BIG BROTHER winner Cameron Cameron is coming to Aviemore next week to share his experiences of what reality TV is all about.
Cameron shot to fame in 2003 after winning the popular television show, and is visiting the strath as part of a touring festival talking about his time in the Big Brother house, as well as informing people on current charity work and his faith.
The Orcadian is joined by long-time friend and Country and Western musician Michael Harcus, who will be playing a series of his own material that promises to woo the audience.
Michael is about to begin a tour of Scotland lasting just over two weeks, but Cameron, a friend for more than 10 years, will be joining him on three of the dates next week, including the trip to Aviemore.
The evening at the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort on Tuesday (March 7) is free of charge and has been organised by Kincraig couple John and Fiona Love.
The entertainment kicks off at 7.30pm with Cameron's tales from the diary room, before both men take centre stage to perform a string of hits.
The performance will be followed by free refreshments and a chance for the audience to talk to the pair on an informal basis.
Mr Love said he felt the people of Badenoch and Strathspey would jump at the chance to see the celebrity and to hear all about the things the audience do not get to see on the television.
"It will be a nice gentle evening with people getting a chance to listen to both Cameron and Michael before meeting them after the performance, " he said.
"The pair are coming here from Orkney before heading to Inverness and further north. We are hopeful it will be a popular evening, especially as I read recently that Cameron is one of the 20 most eligible bachelors in the whole of Scotland."
Mr Love thanked Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort for allowing the pair to use the auditorium free of charge on the night, but added that the audience would be asked for a voluntary donation to help cover the costs of the guest speakers.
"We want people to come along and enjoy themselves as both Cameron and Michael are accomplished musicians, " Mr Love added.
"Michael has just released his fourth CD and his music is always very entertaining."
In speaking to the 'Strathy', Cameron was adamant that the Big Brother experience hadn't changed him, despite people wanting to know all about his experience in the House.
"I still find that people want to know about Big Brother even though it happened more than two years ago, and I will be speaking about my faith and how that worked out in the Big Brother house, " he said.
"I had a great time in there, but to be honest, being in the house is not how you would think it is, as you kind of miss out on the whole Big Brother experience when you are actually in there."
Now that he is out of the house, Cameron said he was really looking forward to coming to the strath to talk about his life since appearing on television.
"I've had a fantastic time since, and I am excited about coming to Aviemore. As much as I love the bigger events, coming to smaller venues like this are much better for me, as I can get together with a group of people and have as much fun, if not more, than I would at larger gatherings."
Michael said he was delighted to be able to bring his collection of original songs to Strathspey for the first time, and that it was a bonus to be able to do so alongside Cameron.
"I'm really looking forward to coming to Av iemore as it's always great to come to a new place to perform, " he said.
"I know a lot about the area and its history of people going there for winter sports and staying right through to summer.
So the evening is a good reason for us to come and stop in the village, and I'm very excited about playing at the resort."
The musician has been performing for seven years and said he still gets the same buzz from playing in front of a new audience.
He said: "Both Cameron and myself are hoping people come and enjoy the music next week, even if they do not share our beliefs."
On his celebrity friend, the musician said: "I've known Cameron for years, and he's a good guy and a genuine person, which are great qualities to have."
