I do believe that the prize money should be kept, if only to keep the minds of the HM's focussed.

If you recall, it was the suddon realisation that the prize fund was rapidly disappearing, that caused the HM's to bundle Kitten out of the door during BB5.

With a bit of thought, I would suggest that the producers could come up with some interesting ways of exploiting the greed of the HM's.

I know what you mean alanfd - I think what I'm getting at is that not all the housemates are bothered about the prize fund (for whatever reason). The 'kitten incident' was absolutely hilarious, the split-second turnaround from "No, no, kitten - don't go!" to "GET OUT GET OUT, look at the money!".

Having said that, some of the housemates from that series ended up not that bothered about the cash, perhaps because it dwindled significantly.

I think I'm wondering whether a BIG pot of prize money would significantly change HMs' outlook at all. I know it depends on the individual.

The rule should be, you break a rule, you lose some cash...Tough!

I think that would have a definite impact, not only on the individuals, but also on the dynamics and various tensions in the house. Imagine one hm being obsessed with the prize fund and one not giving a monkey's about it.

What about a varying scale for the misdemeanours? £20k for discussing nominations, £5k for not wearing your microphone properly...?

Mind you, it would be more controversial to have a big fine for minor mischiefs. Wouldn't it?

How about they let the public vote to decide how much the winner gets.
And maybe also a bonus amount to the housemate that should have won ..we get one of those every year {@}

:D

Heres an idea....

Instead of paying the housemates in money, they could pay them in "surplus stocks of former housemate keep-fit dvds".

First out of the house gets the biggest supply of leftovers (Anthony's 70's disco workout) and the winner comes away with a singular Jade Goody DVD, which would be an inspiration to anyone ;)

Ooh, you've made me come over all giddy. ::lol::

You shouldn't raise the blood pressure of a pregnant woman in such a way!!!

Although, to be fair, I did ask...

Is it... blue or purple lycra?

Cameron my imagination has just run riot!!

I do like the idea of them having to earn the prize money in some way - perhaps they would take some of the tasks more seriously. Let's face it BB6 had more failures than previous ones which if it had been tied into the prize money might have been different.

One thing they shouldn't do is make it task related as in BB5 where they failed tasks and lost some of the prize fund and no-one really cared.

I would quite like BB to say they COULD win up to £250,000 (knowing full well no-one will get near this, but it sounds good) then give them chances each week to set their own individual prize fund total for if they win. For example, winning a certain amount for emerging trimuphant in a task, losing some for talking about nominations, not wearing a microphone etc, maybe having chances to steal other people's prize fund in head to head contests...make it more of a game show, see how many HMs are happy to break rules and coast through tasks without doing anything then!

Yep, they need to do something for the inmates to care about the fund rather than the fame... so to speak... ;)

whatever happens, the prize fund will be miniscule compared to Davina's salary.

I think it's time to bump up to 250K(winner takes all).
