FORMER government minister Edwina Currie is to appear on Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes as legendary French singer Edith Piaf.

ITV1 chiefs are delighted at landing ex-MP Edwina who is said to be relishing being on the Saturday night talent show as one of her favourite artists.

Other top names booked are actor George Hamilton as crooner Julio Iglesias and Bad Girls star Helen Fraser as musical star Ethel Merman.

Ex-England and Liverpool footballer John Barnes will take off Will Smith while Hollyoakes beauty Carley Stenson will imitate country singing star Faith Hill in a stunning gold mini dress.

EMMERDALE beauty Hayley Tarmaddon won last night's heat of Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes.

Hayley, 29, who plays Delilah Dingle in the soap, transformed into Lulu to perform her most famous hit, Shout.

She beat ex-BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond (Blondie), Tony Slattery (Housemartins), Neil Ruddock (Neil Diamond) and GMTV's Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold, who were Frank and Nancy Sinatra.
