An afternoon of good, hard chucking left the lads with a glimmer of hope in the race to catch Jade.
The Games leader recorded two no-throws in the heats as he struggled to keep his pole straight. If he makes the same mistake tonight he'll end up with no points, potentially allowing Plat'num or Peter to close the gap at the top.
Peter secured the coveted 'throw-last' position in the final with the longest legal throw of the day - 25.56m.
JK threw second farthest, while Adam came in third - a victory for the underdog, whose coaching with Fatima Whitbread had only begun an hour before.
Plat'num was also guilty of two no-throws, showing a dangerous tendency to chuck the Javelin directly upwards. "I'm not happy, it tailed up innit," he said.
Jade's efforts fared no better: although he had no problem with distance, his pole skewed left and out of the sector - twice. "It's all a plan," he claimed unconvincingly.
Despite his second-place finish JK was also disappointed, saying: "My arm was a bit bent, I need a longer arm."
Evidently not the only thing he needs extending.
