Thank you Cameron. That's 4 people who have wished me a HMD, and I'm grateful for every greeting, particularly as one of my offspring refuses to acknowledge that there's such a thing as MD.

:D

I'll add my HMD wishes too! You mothers are very special, and I don't know how you do it! Especially as not everyone shows their appreciation!!

My poor mum is being done out of a meal chez moi with all the family, as I've been down with flu. Much better today, as the fever has gone, but I'm still full of chest infection.

My lovely brother has just collected the food to take to her house to cook. I am gutted that I'm not able to be there! But I daren't pass on the dose to her or my dad, as their health isn't good at the best of times.

Wow, Vagabond - I know there isn't that much difference in our ages, but I don't suppose there's any chance I could adopt you as a daughter? ::lol::

Seems like you've done a lot of work, getting the food organised etc, despite the fact that you won't be there.

Hope your chest gets better soon (that sounds odd, doesn't it? ::lol:: )

aww thank you Cameron. :D I've had a lovely day. Last year my son was sick in the night and I spent the whole day washing sheets. It is vastly improved this year I am pleased to say

Aww thanks, GG!! It might be strange to have a mother who is a few months older, though!!! :x :x

I knew I was ill on Friday, but I braved the dreadful queues in Tesco to get the grub, as the others had gone to Donegal for the weekend, and were relying on me to provide a dinner!!

Fortunately I'd sorted out the card and pressie earlier in the week!

I'm starting to feel a bit rough again, and my temperature is on its way up again. But I can't avoid work tomorrow, as we have parental interviews. GRRRRR

I'm sure two more days in bed would sort me out, but I can't have them, so will probs be ill for weeks now instead of days. The chest infection is the worst one I've had in ages. And I'm asthmatic, so they tend to be troublesome for me.

Just realised how OT I've gone in the Mother's Day thread, though, so I'm glad to hear that we have some happy Mummies here on BBFANS!!

'Tis General Chat* - where 'To Post is Human, but to go Off Topic is Divine' :D As long as we're talking to each other, and being civilised, and if a post cheers us up (whether we're mummies or not), then it's all good. :D

*(and the mods here are not 'On Topic Tyrants, although that nice man Jim sometimes runs a tight ship, and edits geriatric gerbilgrannies' observations for obvious obscenities)

Hope you're all having a super day :D

My mum was away this weekend so I never saw her until a wee while ago, shall all spend sometime together this evening though.

I had the 'rents up to the house last night for tea - if anybody knows how to balance tidying and cooking effectively, please let me know - and made 'pork and herbs in milk'. I know it sounds rank and even the recipe stated that the milk would curdle a little, but yeugh the sauce looked vile, UNTIL I remembered I have one of those little outboard motor thingies for mooshing soup etc. Did the trick, long live the outboard!

EDIT: Used the word 'vile' twice, worried I might be mistaken for JM so changed one to 'rank'.

Well done for your efforts, Cameron!!!

::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

I know I shouldn't be here, but I had to go to the doc after all, cos I was having trouble breathing. Lucky me - I get to have no sleep for the next week or so, as I'm on steroids.
