Newcastle has been named as Britain's 'windiest' city.
Geordies are the country's biggest buyers of anti-flatulence products.
The city's Gosforth residents account for more sales per head than anywhere else in the UK.
They are just in front of their neighbours in Wakefield and Boldon, according to the Daily Mirror.
Supermarket chain Asda looked at the regional differences after sales of treatments, such as Windeze, leapt 700% in the past year.
The increase may actually point to healthier diets rich in fruit and veg rather than junk food.
"We're calling this the Big Bang Theory," Asda pharmacy spokesman Faisal Tuddy said.
"The benefits of eating healthily far outweigh any rumbles of discontent."
Other top windy towns include Llandudno, Llanelli and Aberdare in Wales.
In contrast, Kingston-upon-Thames in south west London had the lowest sales per head.
