David and Pam pull out!

David Seaman was not skating tonight, following and injury sustained by Pam just an hour before the show!

Yes, the celebs may have added a little something extra to their routines, but tonight there was definitely something missing from our band of couples.

And the pair in question who were absent from the competition tonight have already had their fair share of bad luck.

Despite coming back from a serious shoulder injury that saw Pam banished to the sidelines earlier on in the competition, the couple have sustained numerous injuries all week, which included David banging his shoulder and Pam gashing her knee.

But nothing could prepare poor Pam for the painful accident that occurred whilst her and David rehearsed their impressive but dangerous head banger lift for the show tonight.

As David swung her round, in a move reminiscent of the one that saw Bonnie’s head hit the ice no less than twice in early weeks, Pam plunged to the ice, her chin taking the brunt of the force.

“The word from the hospital is that Pam’s had a few stitches under her chin,” David told Philip during the show.

“But she’s also banged her other shoulder as well and is currently having x-rays.”

So whilst you will not be able to vote for David and Pam this evening, keep your fingers crossed they’ll be back on the ice next week! ITV

A prop-er good show

There was everything but the kitchen sink out there on the ice this evening, and there was certainly the odd shiner to show for it!

Yes, in this part of the competition, you snooze, you bruise!

So far our sterling skaters have not only learnt to hold their own on the ice, execute breath-taking lifts and perform their socks off week in week out, but tonight they had props to contend with on top of it all!

And first up it was Bonnie and her boa!

We all had visions of vegas night as the bubbly duo took to the ice amongst a flurry of feathers.

Bonnie soon got to work with ‘Madge’ their beloved boa in tow, and even managed a cheeky squeeze of Matt’s bottom to boot!

“This is the hardest thing I have ever done,” Matt had moaned in training. But you just wouldn’t have known it as he swung Bonnie n' boa round with his usual rigour!

And Stefan positively cleaned up with his broom this evening, proving that he could more than handle it out there as he quite literally swept Kristina off her feet with a stunning display of innovative moves.

Looks like he’s been brushing up on his technique again!

Kelly had said all week that her prop, a cheeky chair, “had a mind of its own.”

But tonight both Kelly, a recovering Todd and their four-legged friend were all flying by the seat of their pants in a bid to impress the judges.

“I’m going to build a bonfire later for that thing!” Kelly cooed, having nevertheless scored well in the end.

So when Gaynor and Daniel burst onto the ice brandishing bowler hats above their usual broad grins, we knew we were in for the full monty!

And whilst they didn’t quite go that far, it was pretty risqué in practice!

As Daniel’s hands wandered in to areas that made even Jayne Torvill’s eyes water, the cheeky pro made sure he had an answer for us gobsmacked onlookers.

“Sometimes you’ve got to go through that to get to the end product,” he hastily remarked, sending the audience into hysterics!

But whatever it is they do out there, we just don’t want them to stop.

Bring on the bowlers, boas, brooms and benches again next time, we say! ITV

Tonight’s skate scores

This evening’s skating spectacular was packed with emotion before it had even begun, but there’s a competition to win, and the show must go on!

So without further ado, let’s find out what those eagle-eyed judges had to say about our plucky performers and their pesky props.

Bonnie and Matt dancing to ‘Material Girl’
Total score: 27.0

Jason’s verdict:
I feel like I’m at the Olympics. You certainly give us all the right material girl!
Robin’s verdict: We got to see you skate! For me you actually produced some skating on the ice that matches what you can do in the air.

Stefan and Kristina dancing to ‘Mr Bojangles’
Total score: 25.5

Krez’s verdict: You swept me away! I don’t think people realised the strength that it took. You completely controlled Kristina and you did the first over head lift that we’ve seen from a celebrity.
Nicky’s verdict: The hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end. That’s how good it was for me.

Kelly and Todd dancing to ‘Cabaret’
Total score: 22.0

Krez’s verdict:
I really enjoyed it. You were very musical and the strength of skating really showed through.
Jason’s verdict: I do agree that Kelly has improved, I just think that we’re at week six and Kelly is actually where the others were at week three or four.
Karen’s verdict: Kelly has made a vast improvement and yesterday we had such a breakthrough so I’m so glad to see it like that tonight.

Gaynor and Daniel dancing to ‘You Can leave your hat on’
Total score: 23.5

Robin’s verdict: Not the variety of skating steps that we’re used to seeing from you but it was so much fun.
Jason’s verdict: They just have such a presence when they work together on the ice. Yourself and Stefan skate so much better with the props.
Nicky’s verdict: You haven’t actually pushed yourselves as much as you could. You could have done a bit more with the hat.

Stefan’s getting psyched!

With Saturday’s semi-finals in sight, Stefan draws strength from his early days as a cheeky child champ.

Andi and Andrea are always a step ahead of the game when it comes to catching those sneaky glimpses of our celeb skaters in training on Dancing on Ice Extra.

So as the footage of Stefan piles up, they couldn’t help but notice the increasing presence of motivational t-shirts adorning his tip top torso each day.

Clearly, the man’s on a mission!

And there’s more to the comeback kid than meets the eye according to Mr Booth himself.

“You know when you were five and you did the egg and spoon race at nursery,” he explained, baffling us all as to where this was going.

“I really wanted to win that race and I really put my heart in it.

“I really want to win the final, just like I wanted to win that!”

And whilst there’s a bit more hype (and several million more eyes on him) this time round, there’s fire in that beautifully honed belly, and Stefan will be pulling out all the stops in a bid to take it to Bolero…and beyond!

Seaman shipped out

David and Pam have been on a sensational journey over the last seven weeks. They've had bumps and they've had bruises, but they've always bounced back.

Tonight, that journey came to an end.

The semi-finals were always going to be a massive hurdle for David to negotiate. Not only was he dealing with the repercussions of Pam's injury, but he also went into the show having suffering from a stomach infection.

But he bravely fought through it.

His dance in the skate-off was nothing if not majestic. You could barely hear the music above the crowd's chants, but Pam and David did what they do best: command the ice. And when it came down to that now infamous headbanger, they proved that third time really is lucky.

"It was the best one that they've done so far," Torville tittered following the performance.

Unfortunately, it wasn't quite good enough. Bonnie - in her second skate-off in as many weeks - performed nigh on perfectly, and earned a unanimous verdict from the judges.

But David wasn't disheartened. "I've had a great time," he said, pondering his performances over the course of the show.

"Being coached by Torville and Dean was great, and I had a fantastic partner in Pam."

And they nailed the headbanger.

"We tried the spin once and had an accident. We didn't quite do it in the first show, and then nailed it in the skate-off," he beamed.

And to add insight to Pam's injuries, Chris confessed that he would be perfectly happy to skate with the former England ace.

Unfortunately, they won't have that chance for the remainder of this series. David and Pam have fallen at the final hurdle, leaving us with three thoroughly fantastic finalists.

Nerves on edge as ice final hots up

Ice queen Jayne Torvill has admitted she is quaking in her skating boots about the Dancing on Ice final.

Three celebrities - Gaynor Faye, 34, Stefan Booth, 26, and Bonnie Langford, 41, - are competing for the ice-skating crown.

Each celebrity pairs up with a professional skater and the couples have to incorporate a flying component into their routines - which will be their toughest test so far.

A public vote will eliminate one pair after the couples perform their favourite dance of the series and another routine incorporating the flying element. The two remaining pairs will then face the ultimate test, The Bolero.

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean famously performed the Bolero at the 1984 Olympics.

Jayne, 48, admitted: "I get nervous for them (the celebrities) because we've seen what they can do at their best.

"The longest night was the first night when there were ten of them. After then it did get a bit easier. But we're still on the edge of our seats. It's a little bit like being a mother watching a child."

The legendary pair ice-skating pair will also be performing The Bolero at the start of the ITV show. They have not done the routine for 11 years.

Jayne, who will be wearing £1 million worth of diamonds to perform the number, said The Bolero was "an old friend" but added: "We're nervous about our own performance."

Christopher, 47, added: "We couldn't have imagined that they would have got to this stage in the competition with all this enthusiasm. We used to call them the skaters and the celebrities, now they're all skaters." dailysnack

ITV1 London

According to acid-tongued judge Jason Gardiner, over the past few weeks there's been a petrified sloth skating round the ice rink, a man in drag, a woman with less grace than a Staffordshire bull terrier and a giraffe having sex.

What has he been watching?

The nine million of us who have tuned into this show every Saturday have seen only celebrities doing their best to entertain us, and judges either being melodramatic or trying to out-nasty Simon Cowell.

But tonight sees the final three skating pairs glide gracefully onto the ice to perform two routines, including their favourite of the series. At the end of this, the celebrity skater with the fewest votes will be eliminated and (at 9.10pm) the remaining pairs will both perform Torvill and Dean's iconic routine to Ravel's Boléro.

But will either get a set of perfect 6.0s from the judges as Torvill and Dean did in the 1984 Olympics, or will Gardiner give them yet another chilly critique?

Gaynor is a dancing queen - on ice

Coronation Street star Gaynor Faye triumphed at the climax of the Dancing On Ice television show.

Gaynor and her partner Chris dazzled viewers with their interpretation of Torvill and Dean's legendary Bolero routine during a skate-off with former Hollyoaks actor Stefan Booth and his partner Kristina.

As she lifted her trophy aloft, Gaynor said: "I feel fantastic. I'm over the moon."

When asked how she felt to have taken part in the eight-week series, Faye said: "I've had the time of my life."

The 1984 Winter Olympics gold-winning duo, Torvill and Dean, expertly showed how the Bolero routine was done when they donned their skates and purple outfits to reprise their trademark dance.

Earlier, Bonnie and Matt were eliminated in the public vote despite proving to be the top skating partnership over the night's first two performances in the eyes of the judges.

Before her exit, Bonnie said the show had been a "life-changing" experience and revealed she had won the part of Roxy Hart in the West End musical Chicago. wandoo

EXCLUSIVE: GAYNOR FAYE ON HER ROMANCE WITH ICE

DANCING On Ice queen Gaynor Faye found herself in more sexy positions than she knew existed on Saturday night - and won first prize for her breathtaking Bolero.

Now the ecstatic actress can't wait to return home to show off her impressive moves to fiance Mark Pickering.

Nearly 11 million viewers were captivated by her passionate performance with professional skating partner Daniel Whiston on the hit ITV show.

But her property developer boyfriend has seen little of her for the eight weeks she has spent juggling a gruelling schedule of skating lessons with filming a new TV drama.

"I've been in London and Mark's been in Leeds, so it has been physically impossible to spend any quality time together," says a breathless Gaynor as she steps off the rink. "Now I can't wait to get home and be with him."

Mark has been looking after their children Oliver, four, and Lily, nearly two, while the Fat Friends and ex-Corrie star has been busy with her skating lessons in London and filming her new drama series The Chase.

"Mark has held the fort and been brilliant," she says. "I can't wait to see my children and give them a big hug. I can't wait to get back to normality."

She has dropped to a svelte nine stone and says skating has made her feel sexier and bendier than ever.

"Skating leaves you exhilarated, it brings out emotion - and just look at the clothes we have to wear," she laughs, smoothing down her skin-tight, skimpy, glittery, purple costume.

"I feel very happy about myself at the moment. I'm very fit. I'm a little bit less wobbly that I was and I'm loving it. I think women should look like women. I'm a real believer in voluptuous curves. I'm not into the lollipop look at all."

HER success is all the sweeter because nerves got the better of her and she nearly pulled out of the show even before the competition had started.

"I went on the ice to see what it was like but I really hurt myself," she reveals. "I thought: 'I don't think I'll do this because it's really dangerous.'

"But my partner convinced me that it was a good thing to do, and I'm so glad I did because I'm here now holding this trophy and it feels fantastic."

Her mum, screenwriter Kay Mellor, was horrified when she heard her youngest daughter was risking life and limb. She begged Gaynor, 33, not to do it.

"She said: 'Please, please, please don't do it,'" says Gaynor. "I was very accident-prone as a child. I was a tomboy and was always in plaster.

"Mum finds ice skating really scary and the only people she can watch are Torvill and Dean because j she is was so confident in them that they won't fall and make her ( nervous. The best thing for me was when my mum said: 'You don't make me nervous when I watch you.' That is a massive thing because she worries so much and she was terrified for me."

Performing the Bolero in the skate-off was all the more poignant for Gaynor because she remembers watching Torvill and Dean dance the routine at the Sarajevo Olympics 22 years ago when she was an 11-year-old school girl snuggled up next to her mum on the sofa.

She says: "I didn't really understand it, but I remember watching two beautiful skaters and thinking: 'They're amazing.' My mum had tears streaming down her face. I said: 'What are you crying for?' And she said: 'They are just genius.'"

Kay, writer of Band Of Gold and Fat Friends, was in tears again on Saturday night as her daughter lifted the Glass Boot trophy after beating Bonnie Langford, who came third, and The Bill hunk Stefan Booth.

"Bonnie is fantastic," says Gaynor. "She is a beautiful dancer and has become a great skater. Stefan is so enthusiastic. He loves ice skating so much.

"Never in a million years did I think I would win. I just thought I would give it my best crack. Every step of the way I was true to myself.

"I really didn't feel competitive, though when I got towards the finals I did want to get through and I wanted the chance to do the Bolero. It is such a beautiful, passionate piece of music and to be able to perform that was the ultimate.

"That was my favourite moment of the series dancing the Bolero with all my family there. It was . one of the biggest buzzes of my life, next to having children. I wanted to do it for my family, and all the people who voted for me."

Her children watched her winning performance from their home in Leeds. "I've really missed them and can't wait to get back and see them again," she says.

Gaynor's winning performance is all the more incredible because she had skated only once before, aged 13.

"I went with some friends and I kept falling on my bottom," she says. "I hated it." So why did the self-confessed disaster area agree to take part in such a risky show?

"It was a personal challenge," she says. "I've been offered lots of things but when this came up I thought: 'Wow!' because I love dancing.

"I'm always the first person on the dance floor. And when Torvill and Dean were mentioned I thought: 'Yes! That's fantastic.' It was too good an opportunity to miss."

Now she plans to keep up her new interest.

"I really will keep skating," she says. "I can't lose touch with Dan or with skating. We have already agreed to meet in Blackpool next week.

I'M not a sporty person, but I have found a sport that I absolutely adore. If I go to the gym I sit in the sauna. So for me to find a sport that I love is brilliant. "I'm so pleased we've put ice skating back on the map. It has raised the profile for the pro skaters like Dan who took part in the show and I'm so pleased about that.

"Dan is a star. He has made this journey so wonderful for me. It has changed me physically and I've had such fun. I'm a good-time girl - I love life and it has made me more positive." Gaynor, who is a Buddhist, adds: "This has given me confidence to try new things. You are never too old to succeed in something new."

It is clear that she is high on the excitement of winning one of the most physically enduring reality shows on TV. But it came at a cost.

"I'm covered from head to toe in bruises," she says. "I lost count of them in the shower. But I wouldn't change a single bruise on my leg, arm, shoulder or bottom for anything. I'm going to keep my trophy in my living-room to remind me of the journey I've had.

"I'm absolutely over the moon. This is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. But now I'm looking forward to being Mum again."

I'd wanted to do the Bolero so much. It's so passionate Mirror

Tara Palmer Tomkinson is considering becoming a contestant on 'Dancing on Ice' - after vowing never to appear on the reality show.

The sexy socialite, a former contestant on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here', attended the show's semi-final with TV presenter Matt Brown.

Tara admits she was blown away by the show and is having second thoughts about her original decision.

She said: "I'm having a complete rethink. I've been glued to my telly all series, so it was thrilling to be rink-side for the semi-finals. I knew most of the studio crew from Oz, so it was great to catch up with my old mates."

Tara also revealed she had immense respect for the male celebrities, which included former England football star David Seaman, taking part in the show.

She added to Closer magazine: "They had two hurdles to conquer-the ice and the spangly Lycra catsuits."

EXCLUSIVE: DR'S JACK TAKES ON ITV SOFA

DOCTOR Who star John Barrowman is to present ITV's This Morning show.

The actor, who plays the Dr's sidekick Captain Jack in the BBC drama, will co-host with Fern Britton for a week from April 10.

Barrowman, 38, said: "I'm so looking forward to being a part of daytime television and especially This Morning."

The Glasgow-born star returns next year in the third series of Doctor Who as the bisexual conman.

He is currently filming BBC3's Dr Who spin-off Torchwood, in Wales, an adult drama in which he again plays Captain Jack.

The ex-Dancing on Ice contestant has presenting experience on BBC kids' show Live and Kicking.

Siubhan Richmond, executive producer of This Morning, said: "We are delighted that John will present This Morning with Fern during Phillip Schofield's Easter break.

"I have no doubt he will bring his own unique brand of humour and fun to This Morning." Mirror

HOW GOODY-GOODY BONNIE WENT FROM NICE TO ICE TO VICE

DANCING on Ice star Bonnie Langford has landed herself an even more chilling role - as vampish murderess Roxie Hart in hit musical Chicago.

Bonnie, 41 - beaten in the final of the ITV1 skating show - will spend eight weeks playing the lead in the West End production.

The former child star starts on April 18, following in the footsteps of Denise Van Outen, Jennifer Ellison and Brooke Shields.

It's a far cry from the role that shot her to fame - irritating, squeaky-voiced Violet Elizabeth Bott in 70s TV show Just William.

She's gone from squeaky-clean child actress to skating star to killer. Talk about hitting the skids...

Got the DVD today.
Haven't watched it yet ,but it includes Bonnie's Bolero recorded from the final rehearsal.

Main part of the DVD is only 86 minutes which is really too short and the extras run another 51 minutes.

The content on the DVD is good but they could and maybe should have made it a lot longer. 3 Hours wouldn't have been too long.
You don't see many complete routines or much of the practise. Most of what you see routine wise is at the end. They should have done away with the T & D Fire and Ice extras and used it for the show footage.
But at least you get to see all 3 Boleros.
