Why o Why o Why do the BBC show things like this? The interest level in this game will be less than the FA Vase, hence the large number of free tickets which get given away to matches like this.

If they really wish to do female sport a favour (which is fair enough), then cover a final of a traditional "female" sport - one which is played by a larger number of women than female football is.

I have no idea why politics plays such a part in sports coverage. It's the same with Rugby Union club games getting pages of reports despite being watched by crowds far less than their League equivalents which seems worthy of no more than a column which accumulates all the games.

Arsenal Ladies thrashed Leeds 5-0 during the Women's FA Cup on Monday.

Leeds got off to a bad start when Lucy Ward headed in a home goal three minutes in. Julie Fleeting made it 2-0 putting the Gunners well ahead.

Rachel Yankey then made it three with a 25-yard free-kick, followed by Kelly Smith who scored a penalty.

Despite several great saves from Leeds keeper Gemma Fay, Arsenal managed one more goal Leanne Sanderson in the 77th minute, sealing the Gunners' win.

The title is Arsenal Ladies' seventh FA Cup win.

This season they are also Premier League champions, making it their third League and Cup double in six years and their 24th major trophy in 15 seasons.

The standard was terrible, though some of the Arsenal players were pretty cute, such as the number 9, Sanderson.
