The Sunday night psychology show was always my favourite part of BB-yet it disappeared completely last series. Wasn't the premise of BB originally to be a behavioural study? Why did the producers suddenly ditch it? I can’t say I’ve ever really rated Davina, and perhaps if Dr Geoffrey Beattie or one of his friends joined her in the interviews, we might have a more exacting and insightful exit interview?

Anyway, whatever, the science programme really should come back this year.

This is my first new thread-be gentle with me!

well done on the new thread CT ;)

I agree I loved that part of the show and wish they would bring them back. It certainly was interesting to see their view point on what was going on.

I'd definitely agree with that, the one with my psychologists was definitely my favourite out of the lot. They sometimes seem to have them on BBLB now (mind you, last series I think I saw about 5 episodes of BBLB and not a huge number of the highlights shows either...!!) but it's not the same.

CT I thought it was a really interesting part of the programme, but I love people watching, the original guy is from Sheffield I believe.

They were okay, although I do have a love-hate feeling for that missy Sandra Scott. You know, the chocolate psy woman ? She has a very soothing voice, but there is something intensely annoying about her, not that I can pinpoint it though.

Calrissian: mostly lurking

I quite like the psychologist shows as they viewed the housemates from a different angle and I found it quite interesting

I personally didn't like the psychologist show and stopped watching after the first year, most of the time they just state the obvious.

I liked it, but let's be honest, 99% of the time they either stated the obvious or talked absolute rubbish. I even wondered if sometimes BB producers suggested to them to create something that wasn't there in a bid to get people to think there was and let their editing do the rest.

I agree Finchy, I thought they used to push the "plotlines" endemol wanted most, but then I'm a bitter cynic :D

I couldn't agree more. I didn't like the psychologist shows either. They didn't tell me anything which I hadn't already worked out for myself and in some instances, I didn't necessarily think they had picked up on the main things. It seemed as though some of them hadn't even been watching the shows - they just went by what the producers had shown them, which was probably biased.

I think that the show was sometimes interesting, but it could have been so much better. They had a knack of stating the obvious...

If Big Brother is meant to be an analysis of human behaviour and interaction, then there should be some element of comment on this - but I think BB has really moved away from that now and become a vehicle for fame-hungry wannabees. I am really hoping for some 'normal' housemates this year, who might actually be interesting to watch - not playing up to the camera, arguing about boob size and sleeping with other housemates to get some attention

Oh Milly....we can but hope...but I can't see how they could go back to simpler times...especially this year, with the competition from other shows, and the World Cup (though would World Cup fans really watch BB instead?)...

We've already got the annual 'More boobs than ever'' promise. :

ohh, I'd forgotton entirely about that for a few hours.

There is a lot to said about the rats, and this year BB will hopefully manipulate them in ways not yet seen - although they are clearly running out of fresh ideas.

Calrissian: still..not employed by Endemol.
