That is very very sad news and it has brought tears to my eyes. She was so young as well. I suppose the only consolation is, that she was happy when she died and didn't appear to have suffered too much.

I can't begin to imagine what you and Jemma must be going through. My thoughts are with you both at this sad time.

This is such sad news, leftschool/joanna often made me laugh and was good fun, she would speak her mind and had a great spirit, I shall miss her, a truly lovely young lady

my thoughts are with her family and friends

Absolutely dreadful news, I'm shocked to hear it.. you have my deepest sympathy.So young too.

I hardly new leftschool but did reply to a few of her posts in books mainly.

Good idea to suggest that, BBoop - thanks for doing it, Jim.

It was so good of Caramac to let us know about Joanna - although probably many people haven't realised that the thread is the saddest one ever posted on here. I know a lot of people don't look at General Chat.

I hope that in the future we have some way of showing our appreciation for Joanna - maybe some of the brave people on here who do races and stuff could ask us to sponsor them, with the money going to a charity which Joanna would have wanted to support.

I've thought about Joanna and her family every day since we've heard the news, and will send a private message to Caramac in a couple of days. She may never read it, but it's the least I can do. It's impossible to understand the heartache that her family must be experiencing.

Perhaps it might be an idea to put up a sticky in the BB thread, saying that there is a thread on Chat for anyone who knew Joanna or her mum or sister.
