Shop assistants(again)..who say 'Have a nice day' when they don't know who the heck you are and for all they know,you might be off to visit a dying relative or have an incurable illness.In which case it's NOT going to be a nice day is it?So get that sickly grin off your face and keep your platitudes to your self

lol!!! I never say that but have to say I smile a lot because it's nicer than looking sullen *unlike all the staff in a local shop which obviously I'm not going to name but I have never ever met staff so rude and unfriendly*.

Usually I just say, hello, thank you (feels like 20 times sometimes) and please obviously and at the end "bye" if it's a random but "bye for now" if I see them every week.

I like smiley shop assistants but I don't like ones who ignore me and carry on conversations with their co-workers, when they see me waiting.

I was a manager for a store and was always nice and pleasant and smiled at peoplle and wished them a nice day. I personally don't see anything wrong with being decent to other people ${
