There are those who genuinely like Jade though most who'll buy the book are the same kind of people who bought Jordan's or Victoria Beckham's, people who buy into this obsession with celebrity in the tabloids & magazines.

Would Jade have written an autobiography if she had been evicted a few week's earlier in BB3 before the pro-Jade hype began in The Sun, The Star, Heat Magazine kicked in?? - definitely not.

During BB3 certain sections of the media demonized Jade because she was appalling; but the tabloids knew they'd probably gone too far, & after Jade took all her clothes off(willingly) in a silly name game, the tabloids(& Endemol) felt sorry for her & the biggest hype machine & charm offensive ever in the history of 'reality' TV got going.

Interviews/features in seleb magazines & careful handling by her agent just keep Jade's 'star' going - & it looks like a couple of hundred thousand will buy her book.
And of course when Jade appears on TV we are always told that 'we' love Jade because of the 'funny' things she said on BB - and Jade's always got a few more thick things to say to charm us even more.

I actually think her name, Jade, has alot to do with her longevity on planet celeb - if she was Tracey or Lizzie from Bermondsey, or any other more common name, she may not have lasted as long or made as much impact in certain quarters.

I feel sorry for Jade because of her upbringing, & I'm sure she's a great mom, but as an individual & a celeb, she is the pits.

IF crowds at a Peterborough bookshop are typical of her book signing events, there should be no excuse for Jade Goody to struggle to remember how to spell her own name.

Hundreds turned up to see the Big Brother star and to get their hands on a signed copy of her autobiography, Jade, at Waterstone's bookshop in Bridge Street, Peterborough, yesterday.

IN much the same way as dogs are called Dog and spades are called Spade, Jade Goody’s autobiography is called My Autobiography.

Lest we forget

This is a book that does exactly what it says on the cover. It tells the story of Jade’s life to date, tracking her progress from South London to Essex.

Resisting the urge to write under the pen name Rio de Janeiro – Jade did once think this was a person – Jade put pen to paper.

And then her mind let her down. “I need to concentrate,” says Jade in the Sun, which caught up with her as she signed copies of her tome in a bookshop, “I keep forgetting how to spell me own name.”

For the record, Jade is spelled J-A-D-E. And her surname is spelled A-U-T-O—B-I-O-G-R-A-P-H-Y.

Big Brother survivor Jade Goody has used fame to tackle issues from her traumatic past. And people still think she’s stupid?

IT’S a brutally hot day in Brentwood, Essex, known to its inhabitants as Boredtown. In WH Smith’s, Jade Goody is signing books. A line of gawpers lean over the Mills and Boon shelf and film her with their phones. What do they see? A young woman with dark bobbed hair and a deep brown tan, wearing a white top, red shorts and red shoes. She looks unremarkable but has that celebrity glow. Goody is the Big Brother star who broke the mould; while almost every other participant in Channel 4’s reality show has quickly returned to obscurity, she is still famous four years after her eviction from the house.

A Mariah Carey concert. Better even than East 17. Mariah throws me a big ball thing. Everyone thought I was going to be Mariah Carey when I went on Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, but my agent told me to do Lynn Anderson instead (whoever she is), and I even went up to Cat Deeley and said, "Tonight Matthew, I'm ... " How braindead is that? But I won anyway. So I can do something, and sod the lot of you.

Jade's life is the talk of the town

Jade Goody’s parents split up because her father hid guns under her bed.

In her new autobiography, the ‘Big Brother’ star reveals her father ruined her childhood.

She said: "Mum and dad split when I was about one and a half. My mum threw him out because she found him hiding guns under my cot."

Jade’s father - who died from a heroin overdose last year - was so addicted to the drug that he had injected it into every vein in his body, including his *****.

Jade told Britain’s New magazine: "My dad was a heroin addict, a robber, oh, and a pimp, apparently."

ONE of the best-known Big Brother contestants visited Coventry yesterday - just as the latest series of the reality TV show is about to get underway.

Jade Goody was greeted by more than 100 fans at Ottakar's in the city centre to sign copies of her autobiography.

The 24-year-old Londoner chatted and posed for photographs with fans, who had queued to meet her.

First in the queue were friends Kelly Maddison and Lorraine Matthews, who had waited an hour to meet the Big Brother 3 star.

Miss Maddison, aged 28, of James Green Road, Tile Hill North, said: "I think she's lovely - really down to earth.

"I'm glad we were first because everyone rushed forward to meet her."

Miss Matthews, aged 36, of Copthorne Road, Keresley, said: "I'm a big fan of Big Brother which was why I wanted to meet her.

"She was lovely and thanked me for coming -she was definitely worth queuing for."

People swarmed forward wanting autographs, pictures or chats.

Some came with cards and presents, but all were treated to the laugh and smile Jade has become known for.

Coventry University student JJ Bates, aged 20, got a copy of the book signed for his sister Rachel's 30th birthday.

The media production student said: "I wanted to get my sister something special and she is a huge Big Brother fan and really likes Jade."

Millie Ward-Brown, aged 11, came to the signing with her dad Steve, aged 42, and stepmum Jo, aged 31.

She said: "I like Jade. I watched her when she was in Big Brother and I thought she was funny. She was one of my favourite contestants."

After a busy hour, Jade got a couple of seconds to reflect on how the signing had gone.

She said: "All the people I've met have been really friendly. I've got lots of lovely presents, so I'll say thanks Coventry."

Big Brother star Jade Goody was in a Croydon bookshop last week signing copies of her new autobiography.

Jade, who recently collapsed while running the London Marathon, was in Waterstone's to promote the book.

She shot to fame on the reality TV show where she entertained the nation with her witless observations. They included, "Rio de Janeiro, ain't that a person?"

The Bermondsey celebrity told the Croydon Guardian it was not her first trip to Croydon. She said: "I've been here shopping before so it's not my first time here. I really enjoyed meeting my fans in Croydon today and I would love to come to Croydon again if I get the chance but I got cramp from signing all those autographs."

I bought this book yesterday and I've read it all by today. It is actually quite interesting, especially her child hood. I love my autobigoraphies, and this is up there with the most interesting because it was like 'Life was excellent and dandy'...some of the things I read sounded very bitter, but other things i was oblivios!

Tiffany, 7, sobs as she fears she'll miss photo with Big Brother star

OF ALL the reasons to cry, failing to get a picture of dippy Jade Goody wouldn't be top of many people's lists.

But for young Tiffany White it was a devastating moment and she couldn't help but turn on the waterworks.

Luckily, Big Brother star Jade showed her caring side and called the seven-year-old back for a photograph.

Jade was at Waterstone's, in the Whitgift Shopping Centre, to sign copies of her autobiography, called Jade, on Friday.

Jade Goody Only Entered Big Brother For Some Peace

2006-05-27 16:01:02
Femalefirst

Jade Goody went into the ‘Big Brother’ house to get some peace and quiet.

The ditzy reality TV star has revealed she chose to enter the Channel 4 house three years ago to escape her difficult home life.

She told Britain’s Guardian newspaper: "I thought it was going to be a hotel where I could be a kid. I’ve never been a kid."

The millionaire mother-of-two revealed all about her troubled childhood in her autobiography, ‘Jade’.

When she was just five, the star was forced to become the sole carer for her mother after she lost an arm in a motorcycle crash.
