I'm pretty scrawny and would like to build and/or tone my muscles, specifically in the chest and abdomen area.
Does anyone here have advice on which exercises to start with? I'm pretty unfit.
I know about press ups and sromach crunches, but are these any good?
Thanks
Those are good!
If you're a beginner, you can develope your muscles at any age with almost any kind of correct movements as an excercise, if you're not training too much, not too hard and not with too heavy weights.
If you don't want to go to gym to train with machines and other stuff, you can train at home with few basic excercises
regulary. To have some results to change your methods to train it will take up to 4 weeks or sometimes up to 2 or 4 months. Basic press-ups and stomach chrunches are absolutely fine to begin with, don't worry!
If you want to build your muscles like body-builders or fitness-enthutiastics, it's another story - ellie wrote you something already about that.

I eat mostly carbs and just some protein and fat with carbs. But my carbs are mostly low calorie food that I can eat a lot every day.
