Hahaha I remember hearing about that geezer actually!!
On a similar note, Rodney Marsh was saying on Talksport tonight, Andy Murray is apparently supporting everyone England play at the World Cup.
Therefore at Wimbledon I urge all Englishmen to support every player the cocky little pr*ck plays against, and see how far he gets.

No, it isn't jealousy. Really it isn't. If we are going to be jealous of anyone, it will be Brazil. Five times winners, and sexy samba football.

No, the Scotland antipathy to the England sporting teams is a distaste for pomposity and arrogance. You'd have to NOT be English to actually appreciate this. You are as bad as you think the Germans and Aussies are, but you don't realise it.

Kind of like England's obsession with the Germans?

Who have actually won three times as many World Cups as England, been in seven times as many finals, and but for '66, always beat you in the big games that matter.

Are you jealous of Germany's success (bearing in mind they have also won the European Championship, twice)?

No, of course you are not.

It's rivalry.

Why should Scots (or Welsh, or Northern Irish) want England to do well? We don't care if you want us to win or lose.

Why do you feel you need our support? Do you need us to hold your hands?

C'mon! The earliest you'll meet Brazil is the semis, surely even without Rooney you'll get there.

And then we Scots can get out our Ronaldinho Brazil tops! ;)

I just find the whole attitude of the Scottish football fans totally bizarre.
I have never seen your obvious hatred for England returned by an Englishman.
When I was on holiday in 2002, me and my mates went mental supporting Ireland against Spain, even though England were in the tournament too.
If (IF) Scotland had been there I would have supported them too.
Because you are our neighbours, and every other country, well, they're not are they!!
I am however seriously reviewing this position now!!

I'm with the McPosters on this one. When Scotland or Wales are playing, I want them to lose. Heavily. And more often than not, I get my wish. It's no different to wanting to see English teams do badly in Europe. I can either support them if I want or not - there is no 11th commandment saying "Thou must all cometh together under one flag when England sides play in Europe"

I never understand the UK media obsession with ROI. Other than most of their players being born in England, I cannot for the life of me see why they are the team that is chosen to be shown live on Sky or given great coverage in the media.

This isn't some Rangers style No Surrender sectarian rant, but I'd much rather the UK media backed a UK nation. It's great fun watching the likes of Scotland getting outclassed by countries with a population of sheep but we do not all have ROI as our second side.

i've never understood this devotion to the paddies either

they bombed your cities for thirties years but the english media still give them more favourable coverage than scotland or wales
