Buy and trade shares in your favourite celebrity - get a lovely thousand pounds to being with and try and make it rise, rise, rise.

Okay, I can't do salesperson talk, but it is good fun, and highly addictive. And, its a reason to legitimately watch big brother!

not that I needed one...

I've got an account, but I don't understand Celebdaq, it seems as flawed as the actual stock market, yet even there shares have to go down when the actual productivity is down.

It started with ole paddy bwhatisface, saying it will just be the people who make the papers and hence get good dividends, that do well.

Yet thats not how it works, its actually the people who most daq-traders think are doing well. Also often disliked people like Jordan shares aren't that high despite being in the papers constantly, whilst ant and dec, who don't get much tabloid coverage, are very high. Also peoples fan clubs can get a sleb a high rating just by buying their shares constantly.

It should be done just on the dividends, that way it would be an accurate portrayal of slebness. I preferred "fame Index" before it broke ${

Umm, that was an unnesacarily long and meandering post, for just a game wasn't it

I have to agree with Rincewind. I had an account, but just couldn't wrap my head around it all so gave up!

Ah well, fortunately I don't have my sights set on a career in the stock market! :D

Yay! Another GO fan! Quite possibly my all-time favourite book along with Gabriel Garcia Marqez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. GO just edges ahead because of the humour I think. Oh, and because it has Crowley and Aziraphale! :)

It is great isn't it, I never would of got into Pratchett without it, the thought of wizards and stuff, just reminded me of sad role-playing ghames of the 80s.

I loved the Enid blyton style pastiche, of Damian, especially the dog.

Never read the other bloke, know someone who has though .

That would be me, Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote my favourite book of all time, Love in the Time of Cholera. I re-read it at least once a year.

Well I only got into Pratchett because I was bequeathed a bundle of his books when I was younger and picked up The Colour of Magic one night when I was really bored. I raced through the Discworld ones and then picked up GO rather reluctantly because it was different. I've now lost count of the number of times I've re-read it!

I don't think I'll ever be able to take the Omen seriously ever again - the Damien stuff is just too brilliant!

I love the Four Horsemen as well, particularly Death's insistance that he never laid a finger on Elvis.

Never read any of Neil Gaiman's stuff, though it's supposed to be very good.

No I've never read his stuff either, comic-fantasy doesn't appeal. Yet I think he made "Good omens" more worldly then a discworld novel, so I'll thank him for that, as I would never of discovered Sam Vimes, granny or Rincewind else.

Oops, guess we have kinda hijacked the celebdaq thread - sorry Amaunet! :-?

I shall go this very minute and create a thread specifically designed for the worship of GO/Pratchett/Gaiman. It will be a most glorious thing!

:x See? He agrees!
