Lovely day here ,clear Blue sky with just the sounds of the birds and the planes. Bit too hot at present to do much outside 23C 28% Humidity so shall wait a bit before going back out.

my friend has often grown cherry tomatoes in a hanging basket. Mine are just in pots.

Westy thats a cute bird pic. Don't they say a bird crapping in your hand is worth not putting it near anyones bush. Or something like that :D

Westy that flower looks much bigger than ours was. Think ours was just above 6 feet.

I worked like a trojan in my garden today. I had been to the gym and thought, before I hit the shower I will just do a bit in the garden. Three hours later.... I had chopped a load of ash trees down that were blocking a lot of light at the front. I say chopped but it was sawing actually. the sweat was pouring off me. I felt like Charlie Dimmok with a bra on  Anyway It was very satisfying to achieve so much. I'm done in now though.

I have been gardening today too! Mostly sorting out pots and cleaning them up for summer...

I also spent time gardening this morning.
I started bagging up the disaster that's supposed to be a compose heap.
Basically it's become way too big and the cats have been catching mice recently and we think they are coming from that direction. Plus the cats have had a fascination with it since shortly after it started building up and this afternoon I looked up to see one of the cats next to it playing with a mouse so the heap has got to go.
Filled 6 bin-bags today and when they have been taken to the tip I'll do the next 6 until it's gone.

The council used to collect garden waste for OAPs which both my parents are but last year they stopped the service.

Think it'll take at least one trip a week due to the amount of garden waste we have a week.

I don't have a compost heap anymore after I disturbed a wasps nest in one a few years ago and was stung all over. It has put me off them for life. I will never have one again it was the most horrible experience. I have a green bin I just chuck it all in there now.

Wasps are vile!

I had a bonfire a few weeks back on top of my heap and when I was flattening it to stick the branches on I heard a buzzing....Funnily since the fire that seems to have gone :D

We have a separate bin which we started putting the grass cuttings in but the first cut after the winter filled it to the top !
We did get another load on top a week or so later but it's slow breaking down.
It's the trouble with having a big garden ,loads of waste ,weeds ,and constant hard work to try and keep it looking good.

The shredder will have to come out as well as there is a layer of wood from cuttings that'll never break down so they'll reduced to saw-dust and bagged.
