You're half-right NM, Italy were unimpressive. Past reputation only. They have no chance of going far this year, especially since they will likely finish runners-up to the Czechs and then have to face Brazil in the last 16 (who were also poor, but at least better than Italy).
For me, and it's all just useless opinion, the best teams (so far) are:
1 Czechs
2 Argentina
3 Germany
4 Spain
5 Brazil (good, but not what we were expecting)
And the biggest disappointments are:
1 England (good players, bad formation)
2 France (old men)
3 Brazil (great in TV ads only)
4 Holland (one man team)
5 Italy (reliant on the over-rated Totti)
