AS we know, it's an important anniversary today of something quite dramatic which happened 10 years ago this very day.

That was some goal. Certainly doesn't seem like 10 years ago.

What a great summer that was. I remember watching that game in a pub in Ealing - a few days later I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to go to the semi-final against Germany, and witness THAT infamous penalty :-? . I felt sorry for the stewards too - most of them had to have their backs to the pitch throughout the game ::lol:: . You must have to seriously hate football to do that job.

Incidentally, I don't know if anyone else recalls, but every time England scored there was a shot of two yuppies in the stand, stood in chinos and polo tops with slick-backed hair, clutching drinks, engaging in polite joviality (whilst everyone else was delirious). Can't remember the game, might have been Scotland game.
