The RSPCA's Radcliffe-on-Trent shelter is holding an open day next Saturday.
Dan, a finalist in Big Brother 2004, is opening the event, which includes stalls and entertainment, face-painting, as well as a dog show.
Birds of prey and police dogs will also be there.
The open day takes place at the shelter on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
Meanwhile, the RSPCA has warned again of the dangers of animals being left in hot cars.
In just one week, ending last weekend, more than 200 incidents of dogs being left in cars have been reported to the charity.
At least 29 have been in the east region, which includes Notts.
The charity says irresponsible owners are risking cooking their pets alive.
RSPCA chief veterinary officer Steve Cheetham said: "A dog left in a warm car, conservatory, greenhouse, caravan or shed will quickly begin to suffer from heatstroke and can die an agonising death.
"On a warm day these places can resemble an oven and each year dogs left alone like this die after literally being cooked alive."
