Im back folks-thanks for the support HD and BBoop!!
It was awful-interview lasted 2 hours and to say I was grilled was an understatement. I feel like I've been double roasted and cremated!! Investigating officer and human resources lady were lovely it has to be said. Unfortunately, at the very end of the interview, I lost my nerve and burst out crying. The investigating officer was also quite upset at me being upset!! They really couldn't have been nicer.

A lot of the allegations were true but totally misconstrued. For example, it was alleged I said the staff member should look for another job. What I actually said was it wouldn't have been a daft idea to explore other avenues for jobs in response to the staff member saying she had been at the job centre. I said there was a lot of potential for her develop if she did choose to move on!! Oh god-the list of allegations was never ending. Another few staff members still have to be interviewed and then hopefully I'll get a letter outlining the outcome of this preliminary hearing. Either it will be rejected or will have to go a stage further. I hope it's the former. I'm exhausted. Taking emergency annual leave tomorrow.

Well at least you've been able to put your side of things across RR. Fingers crossed for the right outcome. Do me a favour tho and try and let it go for the weekend!? No point in stressing when you can't do anything about it, try and leave it at work. I know that's easier said than done but it's the approach I try and adopt these days.

Be strong RR, it sounds like a horrible ordeal, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, and I wish you the very best with it, these people can't win.

I'm disgusted you have been put in this position obviously we cant know each other well on a forum but I've always found you compassionate and kind and I think it's awful YOU'VE been made to take leave above this other person making the allegations!

I hope it all works out alright for you and doesnt drag out too long I'm sure it will work out as someone said before the truth will out!

Just read this thread. What a traumatic experience for you Ruby.

You have my sympathies. Try not to let it worry you too much.

I think you will be cleared: you have only done what was required of you, whereas your team member has not done what was required of them (in a variety of tasks and procedures).

Your wealth of experience, plus their reputation as a trouble-maker will make the panel's decision easy.

I just hope this staff member apologises to you once they realise/it has been formally stated to them what a petty fool they have been.

I've just read through all the posts and am so sorry you are having to go through all of this.

I sometimes wonder where all these kind of things will end. Why is it that someone mentions the magic word "bully" and common sense seems to go out of the window.

It is right that people should be able to protest against genuine grievances but I don't quite understand how it has all changed so that someone who is basically not carrying out their job under the parameters set down can turn any reprimand into a situation where their manager is said to be bullying them. It seems to be part of this terrible culture where someone else is always to blame, whereas if they only took a step back and looked at their own behaviour the answer would be obvious.

I can only imagine how stressed you must be.

I hope common sense will prevail - and soon - and that your life can get back to some normality.
