A man has died while diving in waters around the Scapa Flow area of the Orkney Islands.
The 61-year-old, who was on holiday in the area, was diving with a group on a sunken Navy barge.
The man, who has not yet been named, was found to be unconscious when he surfaced and died later.
Ships have used the sheltered waters of Scapa Flow for centuries, including during both World Wars, and it is a popular site for wreck diving.
A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said the diver was brought ashore where ambulance personnel were waiting, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police enquiries were continuing but further details were not being released until next of kin had been notified.
