I have just come back from my eldest's leavers assembly and I have tears in my eyes...he's growing up

I finished work today, but I'm going to moan AGAIN that my son doesn't break up until Tuesday.
It's pointless and ridiculous. All they are going to do on Monday is strip the calssroom walls and play all day on Tuesday wityh a party thrown in.
I still have to get up early for that!

I barely held it together for our leavers assembly even though I've actually got a year off in between sending mine off.One of my colleagues is retiring.Shes the first person I met when my eldest started,she taught all my kids,we've worked together and has been very much a surrogate mum to me.It felt very much like the end of an era and I had to go and be by myself for a while before i could face seeing the kids off.Oddly enough one of the kids I'll miss most has been an absolute thorn in my side since year 2

All in all a pretty emotional day.In need of rest and alcohol now

My holiday started today too I'm off for a huge amount of 7 days, going back to work on the 1. of august. I don't think it's really sunk in yet, and by the time it does, I'll be back to work... But I have another 7 days on the way at the end of august, so I'll live. Who wants to have more than a week off on a row anyway
