I don't know how to 'search' for individual people...e.g. how to search for 'Brad Pitt'...(not that I'd want him

TD, you were asking about MySpace, and it's attraction...it's just a 'page' where one can indulge oneself, and tell the world how wonderful you are, (or not).
My daughters have BeBo...similar to MySpace, and since they got it, the phone bills have been cut drastically. They send each other messages on there, in addition to being on MSN.
MySpace has a music section, where you can search though categories - lots of artists would use it as a publicity tool. It's one way of hearing new music.
It's a way of discovering all sorts of interesting people - well, similar to a Forum, really. You can send an 'add request' to someone, and they will get a message, asking them to add you...they can click on your profile to check you out first.
There are some weirdos on there, and anyone can call themselves any name....when I joined, I never anticipated having a 'space'...it was just a way for a relative to access our photos.
For me, it's not going to take the place of Forums. I like bumping into all sorts on here, etc.
Anyway, how could you fit a hippopotamus into your space?
