CBS announces 'Big Brother 7: All-Stars'

05/07/2006

CBS announced Friday that this summer's seventh Big Brother edition, now officially titled Big Brother 7: All-Stars, will premiere on Thursday, July 6 at 8PM ET/PT. The tentpole of a Summer 2006 unscripted programming lineup that will see the network broadcast up to seven hours of new original programming a week, Big Brother 7 will also air Tuesdays at 8PM ET/PT and Saturdays at 9PM ET/PT.

First announced last month, Big Brother's seventh edition will feature an "All-Stars" cast comprised of houseguests who have appeared on the reality show's six previous editions. After CBS and the show's producers select a pool of twenty previous contestants, the public will get vote on which former houseguests will get to participate in Big Brother 7: All-Stars. As in previous years, Julie Chen will host the Thursday broadcasts that will feature the live eviction of one of the houseguests.

In addition to Big Brother 7, CBS's summer programming lineup will also include twice-weekly broadcasts of Rock Star: Supernova, the new Rock Star edition that will find a lead singer for Supernova, a newly-formed rock band; Tuesday Night Book Club, a new Desperate Housewives-like docu-reality series that will follow the lives of a group of middle class women who get together each Tuesday night; and Gameshow Marathon, a Ricki Lake-hosted adaptation of a British game show that features six celebrity contestants competing in an elimination-style tournament in which they play classic game show games.

Big Brother 7: Juliebot To Announce The All Stars!

Report by Ron Lemon
May 15, 2006

For the first time in Big Brother history worldwide, viewers will vote on which former HouseGuests will compete in Big Brother: All-Stars. On CBS Wednesday, June 21 at 8PM ET/PT, Julie Chen will unveil the top 20 candidates from seasons past. Web voting opens on the CBS site after the show at midnight ET/9PM PT. The polls close Wednesday, June 28 at 11:59PM ET/8:59PM PT.

Here's what CBS is saying about the seventh season...

CBS announced today that the seventh installment of Big Brother will return this summer with an "All-Star" version. For the first time ever in Big Brother history worldwide, America will help choose who will participate in the game from among a pool of 20 of their favorite former houseguests from all six seasons.

Julie Chen returns as host.

Big Brother: All-Stars (working title) will reunite some of the most memorable, entertaining and controversial houseguests from previous Big Brother seasons as they compete for the $500,000 grand prize among a group of people who could potentially consist of previous champions and some of the series' best personalities. Once again, America will be able to see the people they love… and the people they love to hate!

The series will follow the relationships and conflicts of players who live together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house. At the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will receive the grand prize. While living together in a confined space won't be anything new to the houseguests, choosing between any pre-existing relationships and building new alliances could be a challenge.

Big Brother: All-Stars is Executive Produced by Oscar and Emmy Award winner Arnold Shapiro, Emmy Award-winner Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, in association with Endemol U.S.A.

I hated it. I tried to watch also bbus5 & 6 but it was too painful. The format (stupid background music etc.) would be ok if the program wasn't Big Brother, but when it's supposed to be, it's pretty annoying to watch that over-dramatized ****. :D

George Turns It All Turns Around Again

Commentary by Big Sister
August 18, 2006

Last night in the Big Brother 7 All Star house Erika, James, Mike Boogie, Will and even Danielle had a hand in convincing George to nominate Janelle to replace James after he won the Power of Veto. Chicken George promised Erika he would nominate Janelle. They shook on it. He confirmed this with Mike, Will, and Danielle in separate encounters.

Live Feeds Update - Saturday 8/19 All Day Into The Night
August 20, 2006

Another hoppin' day in the house!

Here are the daytime events from that Big Brother House of the Disloyal, the Discontented and the Disconsolate:

First thing in the morning, Mike Boogie told Danielle about the Coup d'Etat as it can't be used at this point. Although blocked by flames, the conversation bits sounded like the show revoked it because he talked about it (to Will?) so, dependent on timing of the alleged revocation, it may have given him the push to really go for the HOH. It was only good for three nominations and since he won HOH for the third nomination, it's moot now.

He also told her he doesn't trust James and plans to nominate James and Janelle. [Jackie's note: Hmmm... Danielle may be the wrong person to tell you don't trust James.]
