thick bloke question here

at the weekend i had a power cut for about 15 hours and it seems it fooked my fridges thermostat or something. anyway it turned the fridge into a freezer and froze the stuff inside, luckily i only had eggs, cheese and yoghurt in there at the time and only found out yesterday when the sausages i put in the fridge to thaw from my deep freezer refused to thaw

question i need to know is, the eggs in there were frozen and i've now thawed them out, anyone know if they are still ok to eat?

being a tightwad i'm loathed not to eat them as they cost 1.24 of my hard earned scottish pounds

thanks :D

Here is another link about freezing eggs (this one actually mentions freezing them in the shells).

Quote:
You can just freeze eggs in the shell. We have done it for years with no major issues. We just put them in the freezer as is.
The problem is that with hen eggs they tend to expand and crack the shell but duck eggs are much stronger and do not leak.
Thaw slowly in the refrigerator (for a day).
Only suitable for baking etc.

However, THIS article says do not freeze eggs in shells.

Hippo, as if by some coincidence today's BBC News Online has some advice. Apparently women aged over 30 should freeze eggs.

Full story here.
