Was that on the news? I'm sure I heard something about a town somewhere and the council is moving offices, but they have nowhere to put the decs, so they're going up!! Maybe that was your town!!

Nah, wasn't ours I don't think.

It is riduculously early though.

There was a phone in on Radio 5 Live last night naming and shaming shops and towns ramming Christmas down our throats already. People were ringing and texting in saying how they'd seen a couple of advent calendars on sale already, I was like, that's nowt! Our local Morrisons store has had a full isle of Xmas stuff for about 2 weeks!

Some of these places will probably "ban" Christmas (sigh) and then there'll be an outcry (mainly from retailers, not from Christians most likely) and then Christmas will be allowed again and it'll all be a heap of spin.

I've seen advent calendars in shops already. The Boots Christmas Gift Guide will probably appear in the next few weeks.

Yes Foinavon I've seen a few shops with advent calendars and the like. I know many shops bring out their Christmas stuff at the start of October so it's not long now.... :(

Our local Halifax Building Society are putting their decorations up this week.

Also, I'm going to be given our Xmas raffle tickets to sell in a couple of weeks no doubt.
