I have just come back from an interview. The job is a 1-1 care for a special needs little boy. There was 12 of us after the job and I will hear later today if my interview was successful.

Madeline, please let us know how you get on. I once went for a similar job. There were 40 applicants and only 3 were called to the interview stage and I was one of them, but apparently I narrowly missed out on the job to another lady who had a child the same age as the one in question and so they thought she would be better as she had more experience of that age group.

Thanks guys, I've been really nervous this week with trying to understand what I will be doing, there's so much to remember plus the people I have met so far are very nice so I hope that is the case when I arrive in my new team!

Yes Tasty! that's true they have some great coffee machines, almost a small and cheap version of Starbucks!

The flexi will be great, never had flexi time before so looking forward to that!

It's a weight off my mind getting a job because for quite a few months I didn't have one!

I didn't get the job.

I got the usual nice letter this morning saying I was unsuccessful but if I wanted I could remain on the supply list. I wont be doing that because I need a full time job so it is back to square one. I just hate all the time and effort we are expected to put into getting hired. I will take a break before I apply for any more jobs.

What a shame Madeline, sorry to hear that. Pretty discouraging eh. Hacks you off at times - hopefully after a break you'll feel ready for the slog again.
