Wives And Girlfriends Get Reality Show

The wives and girlfriends of footballers - knows as the WAGs - are to battle it out in the fashion world in a new reality TV show.

Ten WAGs are to run rival London shops in the ITV2 series, WAGs Boutique, due to be shown next year.

Mentors will advise the women during the 13-week challenge, with the winning team choosing a charity to receive the shops' profits.

The WAG who individually makes the most money will win the opportunity to design her own clothing range.

Steven Andrew, programme director of ITV digital channels, said: "The WAGs are a phenomenon and will become the talk of the town as they battle it out to see which of them has the determination, intelligence and staying power to run their very own boutique."

The series is due to be broadcast from January 2007.

Wags Contestants Revealed

Ten wives and girlfriends (Wags) of footballers are to run two rival clothing shops in a new Tuesday night show on ITV2, Wags Boutique, beginning next year.

Seven of the Wags running the central London boutiques have been announced, with three more yet to be signed.

Two of the seven have partners who play for England.

They include Michaela Henderson-Thynne, girlfriend of Middlesbrough and England's Stewart Downing.

The 21-year-old says she has "a thing for expensive handbags".

Model Charlotte Meares, 21, the girlfriend of Tottenham Hotspur's and England's Jermain Defoe, is also taking part.

Other contestants include Cassie Sumner, a model and the girlfriend of Chelsea's Michael Essien. waveguide

I'm a Celeb's Scott Henshall will apparently be featuring in an upcoming telly series called 'WAGs Boutique.'

The progamme witnesses a couple of groups of footballers’ wives and girlfriends become the owners of two fashion outlets.

Scott, as a fasion designer, will give the WAGs jobs to complete.

The series, featuring popular Page 3 model Nicola T, will begin on ITV2 next month. femalefirst

Top Footballer's Wife

Krystell Sidwell has been voted the nation's favourite footballer's wife on reality TV show Wags Boutique.

She is the 23-year-old wife of Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell.

Krystell was chosen as the best of the Wags - wives and girlfriends - in a viewer vote at the conclusion of the ITV2 show, which saw two teams compete to run rival clothes shops.

She said: "I feel fantastic. I was never in this to win for myself, I was in it for the team to win, so to be chosen by the viewers for the most popular Wag title is a complete surprise. I'm overwhelmed."

The other competitors included Charlotte Mears, girlfriend of England star Jermaine Defoe, and Page three girl Nicola T, partner of West Ham's Bobby Zamora.

Krystell's Bows team were declared the winners after making the most profits.

The show made over £450,000 for charity which will be divided between Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and The Willow Foundation which provides special days out for seriously ill young adults. waveguide
