This week, I’ll be discussing the appearances of Reality TV contestants and if they make a difference on how they’re cast for the show.
“Big Brother” is a show in which viewers can watch contestants any time they want, through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Wait; scratch that last one because Big Brother is the only reality that I couldn’t find anyone who was unattractive. Although, Gerry (season 3) and Kent (season 2) were not what the ladies swooned over in their summers. Why is this that Big Brother features the attractive type? Because we are watching them on the television three nights a week and on the live feeds. It makes much more sense to have America watch beautiful people wake up in the morning, cook, mingle, and compete.
But in the UK, “Big Brother” is different. I’ve only seen one season so far of the overseas version of the show, and I’ll admit a lot of the season seven contestants weren’t too good on the eyes. Jayne, for example, is an overweight mom with very rude habits. Sam was a transvestite from Scotland; she dressed in men’s clothes and wore heavy make-up. But they did have a few beauty queens (Aisleyne, Imogen), a posh stripper (Suzie), and a former porn star (Lea). Mikey was a model, and Glyn and Michael had photo shoots of them without clothing.
