I received an email from Forums@BBFans.com earlier telling me I had a new PM this morning. However, when I logged in and checked my PMs there were no new PMs in my inbox.

That's probably because someone sent you a p.m., but then deleted it before you read it.

If a p.m. which you send has not moved from your Outbox to your Sentbox, you can delete it and the person won't receive it.

I had this problem on another forum. By the way, is it just me or is the whole email notification of private messages new? Don't remember getting emails before for them!

It's not new. I've had them all the time I've been here ()^

It is up to you whether you receive them or not. The option is in your profile.

But I've never changed this option yet I get them now and never used to, not complaining, it's quite useful, just found it weird like.

On the subject of the notification Emails I've noticed that sometimes there can be a delay of sometimes many hours.

Looking at my mail ,I have a 'Right Now!' nofication that arrived at 0638 but it's for the one prior to my last one at 0200.

I'm thinking it's more to do with NTL but it's just sometimes you can get say 5 at once and by then you've already looked at the replies hours ago.

Anybody else noticed an intermittent delay ? Most of the time it's fast and you get to reply within minutes.

Your notification emails sometimes bounce larry, because the bounces end up in my mailbox. I tend to just delete them, so I don't know what they say is the reason for the bounce, but maybe they are the sort which say that they could not deliver - will try again in 4 hours etc and so that may be why you get them late.

So I would think it is a problem with the server hosting your site or your ISP.

Thanks.
I'll change the Email and cut out the middle man so to speak and see if it makes any difference.

I know there is a bounce problem with NTL and YahooGroups as they fall foul of the spam filters and NTL admit to blocking them at times due to spam.

Funnily enough, the email notification for that post ended up in my box as well. I will send you a copy via PM.

If you want to change the email address, it is best to PM me it and I will update it for you, otherwise it will inactivate you and think that you are a new member. It wouldn't matter if you updated it yourself though, but it just means that you would have to wait until I come online next to activate you again.
