Thanks for your good wishes Christine (and everyone!) Elliot is making really good progress. I know it sounds corny but the doctors really are amazed at how he has recovered so quickly. Strangely I feel like I am in some kind of after shock. I keep thinking about how he suffered for days and felt so sick and cried all the time that his head hurt etc. :( His back is sore from the lumbar puncture but other than that he seems to be doing really well. I'm off for a glass of wine and a talk through with a friend.

I'd imagine with him that's a very good sign ;)

Am so glad he's recovering quickly, take care of yourself too.

Thanks Sarah  Things are begining to get back to normal here now except for the fact we all seem to be very tired and reliving the whole thing a bit :-? I keep playing it all over and over in my head and my daughter needs extra reassurance lately. Elliot seems to be the best one out the lot of us ::lol:: I hadn't realised how traumatic something like this can be until I experienced it. And then it was only really after the event when the adrenaline had run out. Anyway his back is a bit sore from the lumbar puncture but other than that he seems to be doing fine. The hardest part is trying to get him rest (doctors orders) and he wants to play jumping off the settee!

BBoop - I'll send my thoughts to all of you. It looks like you're recovering well from the schocking situation that you've had.

Had a bit of a worry on today as Elliot started throwing up in the night. The doctor decided to come out to him this morning to be on the safe side. (because of the menigitis thing) It is probable that he has picked up a bug as his immune system is low.

Anyway RN feeling a bit :-?

So sorry that you've been through such a traumatic time, Boopy. I haven't been around much lately, so was unaware of it. I hope that Elliot won't have too much a set back with this new bug.

*hugs*.

Thanks vagabond. I popped into work to explain I wouldn't be attending a meeting and promptly burst into tears. I think it's the strain of everything :-?

Poor wee thing - I hope he recovers from this set back quickly, he must be strong so it'll be no time until he's back to himself again no doubt.

I've been away, so I apologise I haven't had a chance to say this sooner, but you are all in my thoughts at this difficult time.

When my niece Holly had menigitis it was emotionally destroying watching her, but she was soon back to her normal cheeky self and I trust it won't be long before Elliot is too. I pray he will have a speedy recovery BBoop - stay strong.
