Today being a very dull day ,as per the normal too many drivers weren't using their headlights despite the dull light including the suicidal Jag driver who did an overtake approaching a bend almost level with a junction on the bypass this afternoon!

I heard the car change down at least one gear and I looked around to see the cars side by side going passed the junction half expecting to hear a crash with a head on with someone coming the other way. And there has been a few nasty ones just there. The Jag driver wasn't impressed by the car in front abiding with the 40MPH limit in the section before the junction.
But unless the lead car accelerated at the same time the jag driver didn't make any great effort to get passed.

The bend from the Jags direction could be described as a 'K' right that tightens as it climbs the hill. Hence there is a point where someone coming from the other direction wouldn't see the jag until it would be too late and although if no one panicked you might just fit 3 cars side by side the most likely outcome would be one or more standing on the brakes and a crash.

I'm not a perfect driver and like most others have a some point done the odd stupid thing but it was two things that I see too often.

The light level was like having heavy rain without the rain but all lights looked bright (headlights and brake lights) which is normally a good indication that extra lighting is required. Add to that a dark coloured car without any lights and an impatient driver and you had a recipe for a disaster.

Gets down from soap box.

The seemingly high number ,certainly in this area ,of cars that either have faulty indicators or drivers who can't be bothered to use them !
