I remember this from last year, Jezi…and I even remember some of the replies from last year.

How evil are you, to reproduce last years’ answers?

Anyway…

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?

Lots and lots of things…but a few that stand out are…

At 44, I finally got on a plane on my own, and spent some time in a hotel on my own.

I attended a Forum meet. Had a good feel of the ample bosoms of a lovely woman. Travelled by tube across London, in a very intoxicated state.

(Those three are connected; I am a terrible floozy).

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Yes, amazingly, I kept my resolutions. I will make some for next year, though I’m not so optimistic about keeping them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Yes. Tragically.

5. What countries did you visit?

Only England (I live in Ireland, so it’s better than nothing …I suppose)

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?

The courage, and opportunity, to do something I kind of wanted to do a couple of times in 2006, but I either didn’t have the courage, or it didn’t seem that the time was right. I doubt that I’ll get the chance in 2007, though.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

2 dates….1/2/06 (12.01 p.m.)…why? Because, like the song lyrics, ‘for a moment, all the world was right’.

31/03/06 – 1/4/06 – waiting for the ambulance to arrive at A & E at the major trauma hospital in Dublin, and being scared that my daughter might not be alive. Thank God, she was.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Being able to provide some comfort for some people.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Hmm…I don’t aim for much, so I don’t have many failures. I am saddened that two people whom I care about have not taken my suggestions on board, but you can’t make others follow your advice…

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

A bit, but I can’t complain.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Some CD’s I got in the H.T.B. bookshop, Brompton Road – they make me laugh, and remind me that there is hope. And some Ryanair tickets, too.

12. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Em….suffice to say that I hate it when people hate.

13. Where did most of your money go?

In shops, on food, clothes, the basics of living.

14. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Some things that made me happiest in 2006, I couldn’t get excited about in advance., because I couldn’t be sure they would happen. Was very happy about some letters and e-mails I got this year, and am excited about some stuff coming up early in 2007.

15. What song will always remind you of 2006?

‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol, and ‘Irreplaceable’ by Beyonce.

16. Compared to this time last year, are you

i. happier or sadder?: Much much happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same.
iii. richer or poorer? About the same.

17. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Reading the Bible.

18. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Moaning to my family, and crying on friends’ shoulders. (metaphorically, anyway)

19. How did you spend Christmas?

With my family, trying to make it nice for everyone.

20. Did you fall in love in 2006?

No – but just as in 2005, I did find new people to love (and love me) this year.

21. What was your favorite TV program?

Looked at only 3 things this year (CBB, BB, and X Factory) CBB was the best.

22. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No…'those who hurt you in the past cannot continue to hurt you now unless you hold on to the pain through resentment'. It’s a mistake to waste time and energy hating. I know from personal experience, that realising the past is the past, and you've moved on, is a great feeling.

23. What was the best book you read?

‘What’s so Amazing about Grace’ by Philip Yancey.

24. What was your greatest musical discovery?

The lyrics of ‘Irreplaceable’, by Beyonce (!), and some songs I heard for the first time, which my daughters now have on their Bebo sites. I never thought I'd see the day...

25. What did you want and get?

More peace of mind, more friends, a sense of being known, and accepted, just for whom I am. A greater realisation of how much God loves us. That's a lot, isn't it?

26. What did you want and not get?

I believe it will come, eventually, one way, or the other…

27. What was your favorite film of this year?

Only saw 1 (that’s 2 years in a row…I am hopeless)

28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Not much, although I'm glad I went to the beach, as requested. I was 45.

29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Well, if my elder daughter opened a schoolbook, it’d be nice…she’s very bright, and I would love if she took some interest in her education. But given that on two separate occasions this year, I’ve thought ‘she could be dead’, I should just be grateful that she’s alive, healthy, and actually, a very popular person.

There's another little matter outstanding, too..

30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?

'70% off in Next'

31. What kept you sane?

Very similar to last year….what strikes me is…

1. Jesus/God..you know..'Him'…

2. Having good friends who were kind enough to tolerate my crying, and ranting..last year I had two types of friends, the ones I cried with, and the ones I joked with..this year, the two became one. I am very blessed, and very grateful.

32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

None

33. What political issue stirred you the most?

Not sure it even counts as political, but 'The fact that every 5 seconds a child dies from hunger-related causes…'

WHAT THE FECK ARE WE DOING IN THIS WORLD?

34. Who did you miss?

I miss people who left Forums…I’m funny like that..

35. Who was the best new person you met?

Well, I got a fantastic, wonderful, amazing, new friend, via a Forum, who lives in Australia, and although I have not met her in the flesh (yet), I have felt able to be truly myself with her, more than anyone else I’ve ever ‘met’…

But in the flesh, I’ve been blessed (again). Met lots of lovely new people, got to know some people I’d met before, but didn’t really know, and they have become very good friends indeed.

And towards the end of October, I had the very great pleasure of meeting a phenomenal woman.

I do apologise lol! The point was to read them first so that didn't happen ;) Just joking!

Mine would be fairly similar if it hadn't been for starting uni this year.

Who - me - at my age? ::lol:: I had quite lively years in my youth. ::lol::
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes I did - but I prefer to call them more like dreams or goals - and I'd do more new plans and start projects and I do make new decisions for the next year to have something to reach for.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, I still have friends in that certain fertile age, and some of them did give birth this year @^@
