It has been pouring down with rain here all day, but it stopped for the lights switch-on, and the carols were great.

Our town Christmas lights were switched on last Saturday by our local newly crowned World Champion, Katie Taylor.

We have lots of lights for the house and garden. Some of the garden ones are in situ since last year, and the house will be subjected to flashing fever any day now, I expect.

My contribution is candles and natural greenery...tinsel is more than I can cope with.

Oh, and our Nativity Scene Wall Hanging went up in the living room in December 1998. We forgot to take it down after Christmas that year, and it's stayed in the one spot ever since. The red hues go nicely with the decor.::lol::

Our town lights are pretty meagre. Guess that's not where the council tax is going?

Having gone past this a wee while ago I thought I'd give an update - the Christmas tree seriously looked like it was about to fall over  About a third of it is now sitting horizontally. So bad!

As I know you're no doubt all worrying about this ( ;) ) the situation is even worse. They tried to fix it.... now it's still bent but the OTHER way - the top is nearer the ground that before!

I had to move my icicle lights from my front window because with the high winds at night the noise of them bashing the glass too terrible!

I have a set of star lights in the living room window that have been there for two years

I really like them and they are quite cute so I just left them up *whistles*

I saw a ludicrous display as I was coming home today, was like walking into Disneyland. I had to stop and get a quick video on my phone..! (excuse the quality)
That jumping reindeer did it for me. ::lol::

We have a village near me that nearly every house in it is like that. We go to see the lights there every year.

We call it the magic village....pretty spectacular when you have so many together.

I don't know about anyone else but for me this was the last day of the season period and tomorrow all the decs and lights are going back into the attic.

I find it too depressing stretching it out to twelth night.

Mine are all down and have hoovered and dusted.
Feels good to be clear.

Can now start eating normally (after force feeding the kids mince pies and quality streets) !

I'm not taking any Christmas decorations, lights or tree down until it's 6th of January (Epiphany) or sometimes until it's 13th of January that we call "Nuutti's Day". C'mon - Spanish kids will get their Christmas-presents on 6th of January from the Three Wise Men ;) !

You know the squint Christmas tree.... a local guy who's in charge of it or something was quoted in the paper saying "at least we're unique" - NOT in a good way!!!!!

Half of ours had to come down before we went away but we always used to wait until the 6th.
