The avatar image file size must be less than 6 KB

6KB, is that a mistake...I can't even get a plain white square under 6KB, nevermind find/use a half decent one

It saves on horrendously slow page loading times. The maximum avatar size has always been 6KB. If they are animated, they often have large file sizes, but I can probably get a fairly decent version of it made for you, to fit the 6KB if you would like to send it to me via PM.

I do think 6kb is way too small, it could easily be more like 20kb, 40kb even and not make any difference to loading times, on a forum this size where it's mainly a number of regular members (once an avatar has loaded it's cached, so it's not like it has to load every page someone opens!)...you know better what works for this forum though of course, I am just guestimating
