Big Brother Is Back July 5th on CBS

BIG BROTHER 8 will premiere on CBS Thursday, July 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), kicking off a multi-platform summer that will include presentations of the series online, on the phone and, for the first time, on Showtime Networks.

CBS Picks up the Hit Summer Series "Big Brother" for its 8th Edition

Last season's BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS started with 20 All-Star Houseguests and after 71 days and 1,704 hours, Mike "Boogie" Malin, a 35-year-old restaurateur originally from Concord, N.H., was crowned the winner of BIG BROTHER: ALL-STARS and claimed the $500,000 prize.

BIG BROTHER 8 will follow the relationships and conflicts of players who live together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. One by one, the Houseguests will vote each other out of the house. At the end of three months, the last remaining Houseguest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.

BIG BROTHER premiered in July 2000 and has been a key component of CBS' summer programming ever since.

BIG BROTHER 8 will be executive produced by Emmy Award winner Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, in association with Endemol U.S.A. Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Arnold Shapiro will serve as an executive consultant on the series.

CBS Welcomes Big Brother Season 8

Because of the popularity of the show Big Brother, CBS has just recently ordered an eighth installment of the show that will premiere in July 2007.

The much-awaited Big Brother season 8 will continue to have the same format just like previous installments of the show. In addition, the show will continue to be hosted by Julie Chen, wife of CBS Corporation president Les Moonves.

'Big Brother 8' Plans Expanded Coverage

Showtime will air the racier late-night action after July 5 premiere

Starting on July 5, you'll be able to spend the rest of your summer doing nothing but watching "Big Brother."

The eighth season of CBS' reliable summer shut-in saga will launch with an hour-long episode starting at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 5. The series will then inundate CBS' various online ventures. Plus, for the first time, "Big Brother" will move to CBS' corporate sibling Showtime.

Horny Hamsters Are Hatching Plots

This year's Big Brother house is quickly becoming Horny Hamsterville. Nobody has actually hooked up yet but all of them are talking about it. And talking about it. And talking about it. Everybody that is, except Mrs. Robinson. Isn't that ironic. By the way, the only person to have actually had sex in the house, so far this season, is Eric. Yes, just, Eric. I am usually very complete and up front with these reports, but even Big Sister is blushing at some of this stuff. We'll see how it goes.

*Spoiler* Did Eric complete his first America's Player assignment?

This year's Big Brother competition is making history as Big Brother 8 debuts "America's Player." Eric, who has agreed to play with the viewer's guidance, will be asked to complete tasks. For each task he completes during Big Brother 8, he earns $10,000.

On Sunday night's show, viewers were asked to vote on which houseguest that they think Eric should have to tell a fake story. Eric was told to make up a story about a traumatic event that happened in his life.

Big Brother housemate loses it over picture

AND you thought some of the housemates on Australia's Big Brother series were seriously vain.

American housemate Jennifer had a complete breakdown when her picture, along with her fellow contestants, were displayed on the show's set.

In the video Jen has a temper tantrum, says she looks "awful" and starts crying!

"Take me off of this board," she screams. "It's horrible".

"It's so bad, take it down."

I've been watching some of U.S BB - the bad language and fights on there are something else.

What? Has Charley been recruited by CBS?

Charley is a novice at personal attacks and bad language compared to some of the U.S BB contestants.....like Dick's attack on Jen in this clip.
