SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW YOUR PARTNER?

12:00 - 22 January 2007

Well here's your chance to prove it!

The Evening Express is today launching a Valentine's competition to find the ultimate Mr and Mrs in the North-east.

With the help of former Big Brother star and our columnist Cameron Stout, we will be putting couples to task on just how well they know each other.

Armed with questions based loosely on the hit game show which was launched on television in the late 1960s, Cameron will be visiting couples in their homes, workplaces or anywhere else he can track them down.

All the entrants have to do is answer a few simple questions - and hope their partner gets them right too!

Couples of all ages can enter and you can take part regardless of whether you are married, engaged or even if you have just met your match.

Cameron's mission, when he begins his search, will be to find the pair of lovebirds who know each other best.

All you have to do is enter, or be nominated, and you could scoop the title of Evening Express Mr and Mrs 2007 - and walk away with an armful of prizes, including a fabulous free trip to Venice!

And we're not the only one's who are fired up about this contest - the popular host who fronted the smash-hit game show, Derek Batey, today called on Evening Express readers to take part.

He said: "What an absolutely brilliant idea!

"Go on folks, get entering. I'll guarantee everyone will have loads of fun."

Our eventual winners will jet off for a romantic long weekend in the gorgeous, gondola-city of lovers - and they will win £500 in spending money and a digital camera.

We will also be giving away Upstarts! Limited Mr & Mrs box games. The main man for our Valentine's competition - our very own Casanova Cameron Stout - can't wait to get started.

For the past two years he's been the very special Valentine for hundreds of lucky ladies in his search for the Golden Rose.

This year the men of the North-east will also take part in our unique test of romance.

We want to find out which couples in the area know each other best - their habits (good and bad), their likes and dislikes. In other words everything only a partner could know.

Starting on Monday, February 5, Cameron will spend a week out and about all over the North-east tracking down our Mr and Mrs contenders.

Cameron will be asking the vital questions which will put couples through to the final of our competition.

Then he will choose the sweethearts who he thinks would make the perfect Mr and Mrs.

Cameron said: "This is an absolutely brilliant competition.

"I can't wait to get out and about asking all these questions.

"It will be loads of fun and the more people who enter the better."

Derek added: "I hope hundreds of couples have a try.

"A few years ago I came to Aberdeen to do the show on stage. It was great.

"I used to find younger couples knew each other best.

"Older ones no longer noticed the other one's habits so much!

"So if you want Cameron to turn up to ask you, your friends, relatives or workmates the questions - get nominating fast.

"See if couples really know each other as well as they think."

Taken from HERE where you can find entry details.

I'm glad they've published it today cos I was told about it by someone "involved" the other day and was tempted to post but thought I maybe shouldn't!

The EE have naturally been plugging this big style and today there's a funny wee story thing, it's set out like a cartoon but not a cartoon if that makes any sense...! I dunno what they're called but it's a few numbered pictures involving the Blairs and Cameron Stout which have things that they're saying coming out their mouths.

It's quite funny really, I'll scan it if I remember to ask dad how it works.

This apparently started today and there is a biiiig feature in the paper but I have a feeling they only put the content of the EE extra edition on the website as it comes out earlier however I have the city final and it generally has a bit more of what has gone on in the day. Sorry, you really didn't need an explanation of the EE editions but it doesn't appear to be on the website.

Basically today it gives a (nother...!) explanation on what the competition is about (see above) and how Cameron will be travelling about the NE for the next 6 days trying to find the 'perfect Mr & Mrs.' Today he was at the Bon Accord Centre (one of the main/only shopping centres in Aberdeen if you don't know) and spoke to a few couples, one who've been going out for 7/8 months and the lady got 4/5 right. Then they mention another couple who have wee identical 10 week old twins and the lady got 3/5. It says that you need to get 5/5 to get into the final however.

It says he's going about in an open-top (!!!!! Aberdeen.... February!!!) Volkswagen Beetle apparently so if you're in the vicinity keep an eye oot!

In the paper there are pictures but there don't seem to be any on the website, would imagine there will be tomorrow.

I'm hoping they'll put the articles on the website as the week goes on but I can easily put a wee round up each day I guess if anyone wants it.

The pink limo is ace! Never saw it during the competition last year but have seen it twice since :D

You'll just have to get your skates on for a holiday in Aberdeen TD and you may well see the Beetle :P

I don't think I'll manage to get up there in the next five days....even if it is a very nice Beetle! ;)

Anyway, hope it's loads of fun Cameron.

I'm so sorry! Have not been on BBFans much this week and totally forgot about this. Have got all the papers so can do a wee summary of each day if anyone wants it as they don't seem to put much on. There do seem to be some of the pictures but it's not organised the way they did the rose ones.

Say if you do want it done please because if not I'll not bother.

Glad you are enjoying the Beetle Cameron - although I did think of you yesterday and thought it must be FREEZING with the top open - hope you've got your thermals on!

Jezi, if there are any pics of the VW that would be nice but don't worry if there aren't - I know what they look like.

TD there don't seem to be any pictures of it on the website :( I'm sorry. Never spotted any in the paper either but that figures because I think all the pictures go on the website!

Just to do a wee sum up thing on Monday it seemed to be in the city centre, Tuesday the Portlethen way, Wednesday in Inverurie and the like, Thursday seemed to be back in the city centre and then yesterday over the Ellon way. There were obviously other places included but those were the vague areas each day anyhow.

I don't know how they're working it (maybe should have paid more attention to the articles  ) with the finalists etc but I think if you got 5/5 there was a chance of getting put through but more on that next week nae doubt. The questions changed each day and they were things like how much money your partner has on them right now, favourite crisp flavour, favourite place to eat out and more controversially perhaps, the last person they kissed ::lol::

Sounds like fun but unlike the last couple of years I've not heard anybody speaking about seeing it happening as such, they must all have been in the wrong place at the wrong time lol.

Some of the questions can be real stonkers.. Martin and I sit at night with the evening and say, "I would never of got the answer to that". So much for us being together 8 and a half years! ::lol::
