Chan seeks a successor

KUNG-FU star Jackie Chan is using a new reality show to search the globe for his successor.

The all-action actor, who turns 52 this week, hopes the show will find someone to fill his shoes.

Chan is currently in the States filming the comedy sequel Rush Hour 3, but he will travel to Beijing to launch the, as yet, untitled show at the weekend.

It will be produced by several major Chinese companies, including Chan's own JCE Entertainments.

The competition is open to anyone with “action performance backgrounds” aged between 18 and 28.

Viewers can expect to see an amazing final filmed at the Great Wall, while the 10 finalists will be trained by Jackie Chan’s and star in several of his upcoming films.

Mammas pick their sons' brides on Italy reality TV

Often seen as mummy's boys, Italian men are now letting their mothers choose their future wives live on television. Italy's state TV aired the first episode of a new reality show this week in which the mothers of five single men have to pick out prospective brides from a selection of candidates.
Critics said "Perfect Bride" was both insulting to women and showed Italian TV-already packed with other reality formats such as Big Brother and Celebrity Island-falling to new depths of banality.

Jackie Chan Launches Reality Show

Martial arts superstar Jackie Chan has launched a new Chinese TV show project in a bid to find his movie successor.

More than 100,000 fans have reportedly signed up to try out for the reality TV show, called The Disciple, which seeks out new action movie talent.

Introducing the new show on Saturday, Chan, 53, said: "A lot of actors are good at fighting but (they're) not beautiful (to watch).

If you can incorporate dance with an ability to perform kung fu, that would be better."

The show will run from March to October next year with the 10 winners landing roles a new movie, which Chan will produce.

The TV show is jointly produced by Chan and Beijing TV Station, known as BTV. waveguide

NAOMI IN A REALITY CHECK..

NAOMI Campbell's reality TV show has been cancelled because she has changed her mind.

MTV were due to start filming The Minion this week which followed the fiery supermodel as she looked for a new assistant.

TV producers were hoping for a ratings winner as she had attacked two of her staff in the past.

Earlier this month she completed community service in New York City for throwing a phone at a housekeeper. And In 1998, she pleaded guilty to hitting another maid.

An MTV source said she had stopped returning producers' calls. And added: "The show is pulped. They don't understand why Naomi won't call back."

Her spokesman confirmed: "There's no show."

Jodie Marsh launches husband search

Glamour girl Jodie Marsh is looking for a man to marry.
The Celebrity Big Brother star is embarking on a nationwide search for a husband-to-be.

Cameras will follow her progress - which will climax in a fairytale wedding live on TV. The Totally Jodie Marsh: Who'll Take Her Up The Aisle? show will be screened on MTV this summer.

Marsh, 28, launched her search in typically understated style.

She stood atop a giant wedding cake in London's Leicester Square, wearing a white belt in place of a bra and clutching a bridal bouquet.

Marsh's previous conquests include playboy Calum Best, singer Dane Bowers, nightclub boss Fran Cosgrave and Kenzie from Blazin' Squad.

She explained: I'm fed up with going
out with complete losers. I've been out with my fair share, none of whom have lasted more than five minutes, so I've decided to take drastic action," she said.

"I'm desperate to settle down with the man of my dreams so I'm launching a nationwide search to find a fella, but not just a boyfriend. I'm on the look out for a husband."

Marsh will tour the country auditioning would-be Mr Marshes. Hopefuls must fill out an online application form at http://www.marryjodiemarsh.com and answer a list of questions including "Tell me about the best sex you ever had! Where and when?" and "What do you like about me?"

Auditions begin in London on Sunday. Marsh will also visit Edinburgh, Sheffield, Birmingham, Cardiff and Bournemouth. Full details are available from the website.
