Cowell was ambushed live on American Idol last night, just hours after it was revealed that the hit show with the famous red book is coming back to our screens.

The new host of ITV's This Is Your Life Sir Trevor McDonald flew to LA to present Cowell with the book, which chronicles his life.

The programme will be screened later this year.

Simon Cowell And Louis Walsh

Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh appear to have buried the hatchet.

Cowell offered an apology to 54-year-old Walsh - whom he sacked from ITV1's X Factor in March.

They kissed and made up during the recording of Cowell's This Is Your Life to be screened next month.

Music mogul Cowell, 47, looked shocked when the Irishman walked on stage.

He said: "This is going to be very uncomfortable."

Walsh replied: "Not for me."

But the pair seemed to genuinely settle their differences. Cowell said: "I humbly offer a grovelling apology."

After the pair hug, Louis told This Is You Life Host Sir Trevor McDonald: "Listen, honestly, he's the best. He's a really good guy and we've had amazing success with our artists (including Westlife and Shayne Ward) so far. And we're going to have a lot more with our records."

He went on: "All is forgiven. Forgiven but not forgotten."

Cowell said: "Let's just say forgiven, alright."

Walsh replied: "Whatever."

Kiss Is Your Life, Simon Cowell

LOUIS Walsh hugged and made up with Simon Cowell last night — by turning up to his This Is Your Life show.

The Irishman vowed never to talk to Cowell, 47, again after being axed by him as an X Factor judge.

I wish they would invite all the people he has shafted over the years would be a long programme and an eye opener. Fot all the artists he has signed used and dropped after an album or two of covers. egotistical little man
