Bad sign for BB show

TWO members of the live Big Brother audience held up a sign during Monday's filming in an attempt to inform housemate Emma Cornell that her father had passed away.

The show's co-executive producer Kris Noble yesterday told The Courier-Mail a man and his daughter were removed from the set after holding up a sign that read, "Emma, Your Dad Is Dead" during the nominations show.
"It was appalling," Noble said.

"But those people were thrown out and we got their names, because obviously we don't ever want people like that at the show again."

Decision day for Big Brother

AUSTRALIA decides today whether Big Brother contestant Emma Cornell finally learns that her father is dead.

The reality show producers have pledged that if she is evicted from the house this evening, she will be told of the death in private by a family member and given the choice whether she faces the cameras.

Some 26 days after her father, Raymond Cornell, died of cancer at the Mary Potter Hospice, in North Adelaide, Emma remains unaware of his death.

News of her father's death has been withheld from the Sydney-based fitness instructor, who has been enjoying herself in the Gold Coast household since the competition began, while the rest of her family has grieved and buried Mr Cornell.

Her 53-year-old father's dying wish was Emma, 24, not be told of his passing until she left the show.

Big Brother housemate told of father's death night before leaving house

SYDNEY - Big Brother housemate Emma Cornell spent the night crying after she was informed of her father's death on Saturday night ahead of her eviction from the Australian reality show last night.

She appeared late in last night's show after she was, as predicted, eliminated from the show but only briefly addressed the issue of her father's death as highlight reels of her time in the house were shown.

BB `bloody boring'

SHE may not have got as far as fellow Tasmanian - Big Brother 2003 winner Reggie Bird - but Big Brother intruder Laura says she has no regrets.

And it seems a sense of humour is what got the 20-year-old through her short stay in the reality show's Gold Coast compound.

"I know from being in the house it was bloody boring, you go a bit crazy with the boredom," she says.

"It's more a case of getting by rather than having fun and making the most of the situation."

The Tasmanian also revealed she has a bit of a soft spot for Adelaide's Joel Scalzi, earmarking him as "a great guy and also a very intelligent person".

Racism hits "Big Brother" Australia

"Aussies, I don't think there are enough Aussies in the house," big brother contestant, Andrew said. The "Big Brother" contestant appeared to have analyzed the appearance of housemates in the house before declaring that maybe "Big Brother" should have a special eviction to non-appearing Australians in the house because according to him the "Aussies" seemed to be numbered by darker looking housemates.

Big Brother Race Debate In Australia - MEANWHILE over there:

BIG Brother found itself caught up in controversy yesterday after a contestant was suspected of making a racist remark during this week's daily show.

Housemate Andrew sparked heated internet debate after he remarked that he wanted "more Aussies inside the house", despite the fact all 11 of the remaining contestants are Australian citizens.

Three of those - Zoran, Joel and Gabriela - are of ethnic heritage.

Odd stuff from a nation of immigrants...

Big BRother’s Has Beans - CAN Big Brother start a war?

Producers of Australia's version of the Big Brother television programme apologised to Mexico on Friday after contestants threw goo-filled balloons at the Mexican flag.

The Mexican government complained to Australia's media regulator after the show's "Mexican Night" featured contestants in mariachi outfits playing musical chairs and eating chili con carne -- a dish almost unknown in Mexico -- to win points.

But Mexico was angry at one game where contestants in one team had to protect the Mexican flag against slime balloons thrown by the rival team.

Race row over comments in Big Brother house

Comments made by a Big Brother housemate earlier this week have been labelled "racist" by some fans and media outlets, drawing comparisons to last year's UK Celebrity Big Brother race row.

Reports also emerged this week of complaints filed by Mexican authorities over a controversial game played during the Friday Night Live show last week.

Boy's night out for Big Brother

should the men have been singled out for eviction?

Two of Big Brother's largest personalities were sent packing last night in a male-only double eviction.

The exit of Andrew saw him reunited with girlfriend Hayley who left the house four weeks ago during a special eviction.

As the two hugged and kissed on stage, the rumours seemed true - Andrew was about to pop the big question.

Alas, it didn't happen.

Big Brother housemates tried to conceive

From Adelaide Confidential
July 02, 2007 09:38am

IN this week's TV Week magazine, Big Brother evictee Andrew reveals he and girlfriend Hayley were hoping to conceive while in the house.
It was suspected the pair were, ahem, intimate in the rewards room - in the hope of having a child.

"We tried to conceive in the house but that didn't work," Andrew says.

"I'd say there's a huge possibility it's going to happen sooner rather than later."

Ouch is all I can say Starlet, who would have thought this would happen.

Hope your site recovers but I feel that a 'Low Profile' is required for a while
