They are really incredible pictures - so clear and I love the vibrant colours of the flowers.

Back to work tomorrow so here as the last for now

Found this strange creature on my arm after removing miles of bindweed this afternoon.
Image

The bright yellow flower caught my eye this evening whilst in the garden.
Image

And this looked interesting with the water beads after the rain.
Image

Now some bits I recorded last week ,which I transferred on to the computer this evening and then chopped and sliced into 4 videos for Youtube.

1. Bees
2. Birds Part4
3. Moths and Damselflies
4. Family Cat

Notes.
Video 2 is another in a series of birds feeding from a feeder on one of the trees.
Video 3 is two miniature moths on some purple flowers follow afterwards by a Damselfly sunning itself.
Video 4 is the eldest of the family cats resting and cleaning itself seated on the seat in the garden.

What type of camera do you use Larry? The pics are so sharp?

I use a Nikon D50 Digital SLR with a Tamron XR DI 28 - 300mm Lens with Macro. This lens allows me to get as close as 49cm (1.6 feet) from the subject.

Images as stored in raw format on a 2GB card and are then processed using Corel Paintshop Pro Photo XI.

Videos are done using a Panasonic NV-GS150 triple CCD digital Camcorder and a Panasonic NV-MS4 Full-size SVHS camera. The later has a usable Digital Zoom of x24 and an Analogue Zoom of x12. The Digital has an Analogue zoom of x10 and a usable Digital zoom of x20.

Videos are captured using a Dazzle Platinum (DVC170) USB2 device for the Analogue video and Fire-wire for the Digital DV video.

Video software is Pinnacle Studio Plus 11 and Media Studio Pro 8.

To competitions to have a look at

Adults - http://poty2007.dcmag.co.uk
Photographer of the Year 2007

18s and under
http://www.youngphotographeroftheyear.com

Both via Digital Camera Magazine.

Categories in the adult section are

Macro
Botanical
Animal
Portraits
Documentary
Landscapes
Street
Architectural
Fine art
Black & White

5 entries per category
Pictures in JPG and no more than 2MB in size.

I think Jezi's fantastic Winter scene would be a worthy entry in the Landscape category.

I'm working on a new website with lots of the pictures in categories ,but there isn't much to look at yet as there's only a title page so far.

HERE

Thanks.

You'd be surprised ,your picture is better than a lot of the ones that 'This Morning' had on the walls last year.
Some of the winners in local shows ,being kind ,had soft focus !

Here's one that surprised me ! I've tried a number of times to capture Moon-rise. The other night we had a large almost full orange Moon just after Moon-rise and I tried a few times. I had to rest the camera on something due to the long exposure. Normally the Moon moves before the shutter closes. Added to this I'd left the camera in the wrong mode so wasn't expecting much ,but this is the outcome.

Image

This is one we're hoping to get seed from ,a Red Double Petunia.
Image

We didn't think you could get doubles but these are in with a large batch of Petunias I bought earlier in the year.

There excellent. Looks like you had much better weather than the rest of the UK.

I love landscapes photos with lots of depth and these as great examples.

I took this one tonight once the rain had stopped.
It's not a sunset as it's towards the Eastern Horizon but it does look like there is a reflection of the Sun from the opposite horizon.
I just liked the colours.
Image

The storm this evening dropped 20mm of Rain in around an hour ! Wish I had a picture of it from work as from 4 miles away it look like a giant tornado .!
I have a couple of pictures on my phone from inside the car of the river of water coming down the road.
