Those were the days. Back before everyone hated Big Brother, Channel 4 could stick great housemates back in without fear of moaners demanding refunds and generally being a bunch of grumpy sods.

It could have all gone horribly wrong, though, as Tickle was nearly finished off by a piece of falling debris at 2:28 minutes in.

Oh, thanks a million for that link, JimD!

I remember that evening so very well, but it's marvellous to get to see it again. What was that strange programme, where the competitors appeared to be adults...individuals, rather than.....

That evening, when Jon made his victory speech - that was the moment when I felt sure that Cameron would win.

Great memories, indeed.

6pm update: Classic Big Brother

When I look for Classic Big Brother clips, I think of my favourite housemates, and then try and recall an outstanding moment of theirs.

But, this guy... his classic moments were classic because they were not very classic. They were so unclassic that they, by some weird logic that I could never explain, became classic.

Do I make any sense? Maybe this clip will help you understand.

Remember Jon Tickle from... was it Big Brother 2? Anyway, after treating us all to a rendition of Hotel California, he left the house to pursue a TV career. Seemingly at an apex, Mr Tickle can now be found in front of hundreds of kids... walking on custard.

They've got the Big Brother number wrong there - it should say BB4 not BB2. :roll:

Just watched that clip of Jon going back in and what struck me was how pleased all the hms were to see him. Sure they were speculating about the implications re-whether he could win or not, but there was no real panic about it and they really did seem to be genuine in their welcome. I think it would be a different story if something similar were to happen this series.
