Are sausage skins these days actually plastic-type stuff? Just wondered as the ones I have grilling at the moment are making a bit of a mess in the George Formby thingy.

Dunno...but I remember when I was about 7, going to visit my babysitter who'd just got married, and she was telling my mother how she hated cooking sausages, as it took ages to get the skin off, before she put them on the pan....

Why not stick to nice healthy grilled mushrooms and tomatoes? :D

From what I remember most of the 'skins' are made from sheep by-products which is made into a cologen They vary in texture and thickness and can be a real pain if you cook on too high a temp.

Our local butchers ones set of the fire alarm on a regular basis if I grill them but cooked slowly in a pan they are great. Oh, none of your oils, try DRIPPING ()^

I am ashamed to say that I used to eat raw sausages as a kid...............but it repulses my now!

skinless are nice but do tend to fall apart easily, especially when I cook them :oops:
