Big Brother flips - Nominations & Evictions reversed

- BIG BROTHER CALLS AUSTRALIA BACK TO THE DIARY ROOM TO NOMINATE

- HOUSEMATES ARE GIVEN THE POWER TO EVICT

- DIARY ROOM CHAIR WALKS OUT!

Frustrated the Housemate you want nominated never gets picked? Screaming at the screen each Monday that you could do better? Well Big Brother has decided it's time Australia had that chance.

Next week Big Brother will reverse the nominations and evictions, giving the public another chance to nominate, but this time their votes will count for everything.

Unbeknownst to housemates they will in turn be given the power to evict.

'I would have won Big Brother'

Ousted Big Brother housemate Michelle insists she would have won the competition if she was nicer to people - but that's just not her.

Speaking after her eviction, where she received 73 per cent of the merged public vote, she said she went into the Big Brother house for a bit of a laugh.

"I'm a joker and I'm a prankster, and if I can have a dig at someone in a fun way I'll do it," Michelle said.

The rise and fall of Big Brother

"Big Brother is atrocious. Here's a great opportunity for Channel 10 to do a bit of self-regulation and get this stupid program off the air."

These are not the musings of your average television viewer, but Prime Minister John Howard, who has on two occasions led an angry chorus of opposition to the reality show.

Howard and the show's long list of detractors might be heartened by the fact Big Brother has taken something of a hit in this year's ratings.

They might also feel buoyed by the rumour – dismissed as rubbish by Ten – that Big Brother has this season not promised a $1million winner's purse because of a shortfall in advertising support for the show.

Sandilands new Big Brother intruder

RADIO shock jock Kyle Sandilands will be a surprise Big Brother intruder this weekend.
The controversial Australian Idol judge will be sent into the Gold Coast compound to add some spark to the Network Ten reality show.

He will also present his 2Day FM breakfast radio program with Jackie O live from the house before he departs on Monday.

Big Brother's Joe Dishes on His Ex and a "Brilliant Twist"

Last Thursday, bubbly 23-year-old Joe Barber II was the second houseguest sent packing, by a nearly unanimous (9 to 1) vote. The former receptionist, who's now looking for a job, pulls no punches about "stirring the pot" and seeking closure with his ex, Dustin.

Gay Zach Firms Up To Win Big Brother

The odds for gay intruder Zach to win the latest series of Australian Big Brother have firmed up from 16-1 last week to around 2-1 this week, according to Lasseters betting agency.

Zach is now neck to neck with popular housemate Aleisha to take out the seventh series of the show, and his popularity graph on the official Big Brother website has gone through the roof in recent days, with 40% of viewers now rating him their favourite.

Aleisha a firm favourite to win Big Brother

While the overall winner of Big Brother won't be announced until Monday night, the betting odds paint Aleisha as a clear favourite to taker out the tilte.

But Zach, who entered the house as an intruder, is a close second - potentially shocking to diehard fans, considering intruders rarely come close to the top prize.

Favourite wins Big Brother

HAIRDRESSER Aleisha Cowcher was named the seventh winner of Australian Big Brother last night during the show's finale.

Cowcher, who celebrated her 21st birthday while in the house, was a much-loved contestant and a favourite to win the Network Ten show for much of the series.

She defeated a fellow country Victorian, Zach Douglas, who was vying to be Australia's first gay Big Brother winner.

I do like the spelling of her name. ;)

(Mr Google tells me today that there are 586,000 results for 'Aleisha', and one of them lives with me).

Big Brother blues on

THE show may be over for the year but the Big Brother controversy continues - this time outside the house.

Endemol Southern Star, the production company behind the reality TV contest, has denied reports of a rift with Channel 10 after leaked footage surfaced on YouTube showing host Gretel Killeen during finale rehearsals.

The excerpt - which shows an alternate ending - was pulled from the video sharing site this week because of a Southern Star copyright claim.

Satirical online site Crikey.com said the video was clearly an inside job and had led to friction between the company's producers - a claim an Endemol spokesman was quick to deny.
