I've just watched something on tv about phobias. The woman on there had a phobia about being sick which is the exact same thing I have. I would go to any lengths to avoid being sick. I hate the build up, the anticipation, ev erything really. I recently had a party and told a friend I'd rather she didn't come as she had been sick that day and I was terrified of catching it :-? (thankfully she was very understanding!) When I was away with ellie and she had a bowl of moules. Now I would have loved them but I would be so scared of eating a bad one and getting sick. I would do anything to avoid being sick. Spiders don't bother me, heights etc but being puking scares me silly.

Anyone else want to share?

I hate being sick too, although it's not a nice feeling and I imagine nobody likes being sick, it actually frightens me as well. It's that actual point of retching that terrifies me, not being in control and I would prefer somebody with me as for those seconds I really feel like I might die or something.

I do have a wierd phobia that nobody understands mainly because I can't put it into words so I won't even try! Not even sure if it's a phobia but it makes me cringe/shiver/ or go ''wuuurrrraagh''

When I'm spewing I always worry I'll run out of breath and my head will actually burst. Not that it happens a lot nowadays...

I'm still scared of approaching brass/military bands. Luckily this is not something that impinges on my life too much. :D

When I was a child, I seemed to have been brought to an awful lot of 'parades', and the noise of the bands getting closer would terrify me. I was also told to 'stand there' at different locations in London for a photo opportunity with a load of soldiers with swords, bearskins, and noise.

For years I had a recurring nightmare about being chased by either a lone bagpiper, or a whole troupe of them.

I would never choose to stand and wait for a band to approach - scares the doo-dah out of me.

my phobia is other people choking

if I am out somewhere, even in a restaurant or theatre, and I hear someone coughing and choking it fills me with fear and I feel myself getting ready to do the Heimlich maneouvre.....

Oh I have a thing like that. It's not a phobia but it makes me feel all funny and it's something totally weird. it's when two fork heads get caught up together and you have to separate them. Now I have NO idea why but I have to look away when I do it as it makes my teeth go on edge and feel really funny and a bit sick. :-?

Time for my medication I think

Oh I wish I knew where to start putting it into words! It's even harder to write it than tell it.

Goldfish.

More specifically, goldfish's mouths. Get all shuddery just thinking about them.

Think it stems from having goldfish as a child, but they got fungus and died, apart from one which jumped out of the tank and flopped about on the floor gasping.

ew - getting shuddery just typing this!

I have a phobia about the fact that Bboop was watching daytime telly. Don't you know Bboop that you aren't allowed to put the telly on til at least 9pm?
