Facebook is a bit of a mystery to me, having only joined yesterday.
I do find the 'how do you know' so-and-so question a bit strange.
The rebel in me wants to put something like 'we met at a gonorrhoea clinic'. *
I like the random madness of MySpace, - a lot of my 'friends' on there are bands, but I'm 'met' some real people on there for funny reasons (e.g. someone said 'I'm in love with someone with the same name as you, but they don't even know I exist. I'm collecting people with her name...can I add you to my collection?'. Seemed like an excellent reason to be friends, to me).
Facebook seems to expect me to have friends in real life - work colleagues and school friends. It's so long since I was at school, I can't remember if the telephone had been invented, let alone computers, and most of my work colleagues are so old and decrepit, they'd be doing well to work out how to turn the t.v. on, let alone navigate around Facebook...
Or am I just assuming they are as bad as me?
* Edit: I see great minds think alike. One friend has said she knows me from when I lived in a secure mental facility - now that's more like it.
