Hope you Kate fans appreciate me typing this lol. I just read in our local paper that she is here tonight. Here is what the paper says.

Hustle is teh brand new offering from Suzie Rosser, one half of renowned Synergy outfit Hubbub.

Like Hubbub, Hustle just wants to play damn good house and Suze is set to bring some seriously interesting guests to teh scene. Kick starting tonight's launch is Sankey's resident Kate Lawler who has quickly become one of the most talked about female DJs of the moment.

She's being regularly booked at clubs like The Cross, Pacha, The Egg, Privege and Eden in Ibiza and Dusted as well In Dubai, Todyo and Morocco, playing almost every style of dance music from soulful house to minimal techno.

What really drives Kate now is a blend of upbeat electronic and electronic house, tech house and driving bouncy minimal music. Her Sets are always energetic, driving as as most people knows, she never fails to join in the party before and after.

1. Who are your influences?

When I was younger, I mostly listened to indie, rock and hop hop. I wouldn't say I've been influenced by any particular DJ as such. However from building my music collection, I really love Mark Knight, Martjin Ten Velden, Cirez D and teh Ninja cowboys production wise. Oh and Sasha/Digweed/Fancuilli - DJ heroes.

2. What are you into?

I like melodic house but I usually drop dark stuff. I really liked warped mashed up noises. A lot of people expect a different style but I don't do commercial house, not that there is anything wrong with that. It's just not my scene.

3. Why start DJing?

I've always loved house music and clubbing and I wanted to get behind the decks and learn something cool.

4. Do you think your reality TV appearances have affected your credibility as a DJ?

Unfortunately yes, but it hasn't stopped me doing what I want to do. I just have to work harder to get myself known for being a DJ now and it's nice when I can surprise people who think I'm going to press stop start and play hip hop house.

5. What's been cental to your success so far?

I'm not sure - I taught myself to DJ and I'm keen to start learning all the tricks with the CDJ decks. Before I started playing out, I made sure I could mix as I knew people would be listening with extra ears to see how I did, so I guess practising. Practising was vital before I actually got the nerve to do my first gig.
