The campaign of bumbling Tory Boris Johnson to be London mayor will boast not one, but two TV stars.
For Big Brother contestant and Question Time panellist Derek Laud has been co-opted to help oil the wheels of Boris's bid for the mayoralty.
Dapper Derek tells me: "This election is going to turn on personality not policy and it's significant that political affiliation won't be an issue."
Laud, a former Tory party speechwriter and the first black Master of Foxhounds, adds: "The primary election to choose the candidate is not unlike Big Brother — and you don't have to be a Conservative to vote."
