NOEL IS A DAD WITH DONOVAN
By Sean Hamilton

Noel Gallagher was last night celebrating becoming a dad for the second time.

The Oasis star, 40, was with girlfriend Sara MacDonald as she gave birth to a 7.5lb baby boy - her first child - at 11.15am yesterday.

The couple, who have been together for seven years, have named their son Donovan Rory MacDonald Gallagher.

Noel told pals they called him Donovan after the 60s singer who had hits with Mellow Yellow and Sunshine Superman - and Rory because it's a "traditional Irish name".

Sara, 35, said of her new son: "He is truly beautiful."

It was a natural birth following seven hours of labour. Noel's spokeswoman added: "They are both overjoyed and delighted."

Noel has a seven-year-old daughter Anais by his ex-wife, showbiz party planner Meg Mathews.

ADAM NICKITT
EXCLUSIVE Cameron's Tory 'star' arrested for shoplifting

By Michael Duffy And Sophie Borland

Coronation Street star-turned-Tory blue-eyed boy Adam Rickitt was facing political ruin last night after being caught shoplifting.

Rickitt, one of Tory leader David Cameron's 100 A-listers, had hoped to secure a safe seat at the next General Election.

But his political aspirations could be destroyed after he tried to walk out of a supermarket in Auckland, New Zealand, with a block of cheese, a bottle of HP sauce and a jar of coffee.

Last night Rickitt - who is starring in popular in New Zealand TV soap Shortland Street - was in tears as he apologised for his actions.

He said: "I recently found out some very upsetting news. I was feeling helpless to deal with it because of the distance.

"I was so stressed-out that without thinking during my weekly shop I failed to pay at the checkout for a jar of coffee, a bottle of HP and cheese."

He added: "I can't apologise enough for what was a very embarrassing and uncharacteristic moment of stupidity."

The 29-year-old was at the Henderson Pak 'n' Save supermarket on Friday afternoon when staff approached him on suspicion of shoplifting. He was arrested and now expects to appear in court.

Rickitt took over the role of Nick Tilsley on Corrie in 1997. He left in 1999, returning briefly in 2002 and again from 2003 to 2004, during which his character had the series's first gay kiss.

He also enjoyed a brief modelling and pop career before trying his hand at politics.

In 2006 he was named as a "prospective candidate" for the Tory Party, but put his political career on hold for the acting job in New Zealand.

Former Coronation Street Actor Questioned

Former Coronation Street actor Adam Rickitt has admitted shoplifting a piece of cheese, a bottle of HP Sauce and a jar of coffee - but says it was an "honest mistake".

Rickitt, who now appears in the New Zealand soap Shortland Street, told a newspaper that he was "so stressed out" he failed to pay at a Pak'nSave supermarket in Aukland.

The actor is now expected to appear in court and face charges over the incident.

Rickitt, 28, plays a serial murder suspect and bar owner in the the long-running New Zealand soap, filmed close to the supermarket.

He told the Herald on Sunday newspaper: "I have recently found out some very upsetting family news.

"I was feeling helpless to deal with it because of the distance.

"I was so stressed out that without realising, or thinking, during my weekly shop of $200, I failed to pay at the checkout for a jar of coffee, bottle of HP sauce and cheese.

"It was an honest mistake and I'm so sorry for any inconvenience that it has caused," Rickitt said.

Pammie to marry in Vegas

Pamela Anderson is about to marry again, according to US reports.

The actress, 40, and fiance Rick Salomon are said to have applied for a marriage licence in Las Vegas over the weekend.

It means the couple could wed immediately. Salomon, 39, produced and co-starred in Paris Hilton's infamous sex tape One Night in Paris.

He was previously married to Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty.

Anderson - currently working as a magician's assistant in Vegas - revealed she was engaged earlier this month.

In 1995, she wed Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee after knowing him for just 96 hours.

The couple, who have two sons, divorced and reconciled twice before finally splitting in 1998.

In July last year the Baywatch star married singer Kid Rock.

She said at the time: "I feel like I'm finally free... I'm in love." But she filed for divorce in November 2006 after a miscarriage.

Anne Robinson's £60M divorce

Anne Robinson's marriage problems began THREE years ago, friends revealed yesterday.

They said the Weakest Link star and husband John Penrose, her ex-manager, had "grown apart" after 27 years together. The couple were believed to have had one of the strongest marriages in showbiz but pals said they had lived apart for months and decided to divorce during the last year.

One said: "Both Annie and John are very sad and upset.

There has been plenty of soul-searching and anguish for both of them. They started questioning the marriage about three years ago and have led increasingly separate lives.

"It was a mutual decision, there is genuinely no acrimony and they remain very close friends."

Anne, 63, known for her harsh put-downs on TV, has agreed to give her one-time manager John, 60, around half of her £60million fortune. It is believed John is planning to devote more time to his property company.

The friend added: "Anne acknowledges the success and guidance he has given her over the years - without him, she wouldn't be the star she is and that is reflected in the settlement that has been made."

The couple, both former Daily Mirror journalists, overcame a rocky patch in their marriage after splitting for two years in the 90s. They kept a clock on the kitchen wall with the date - 22 October 1993 - when they got back together. Anne said at the time: "We're soulmates, really.

But there was a blip in the 90s, when my career had taken off. There was a coldness, lives going separate ways."

Anne, has a daughter, Emma, from her earlier marriage to former Times editor Charles Wilson. She was yesterday believed to be in London and is due to begin recording a new series of the BBC quiz show Weakest Link next month.

In an interview with Hello! magazine two weeks ago, she gave no hint of the divorce. Anne, who was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2001, has battled with alcoholism and lost custody of Emma in a tug-of-love court case with Wilson.

She enjoyed considerable TV success with Points of View and Watchdog before her career went stratospheric when she presented the Weakest Link which she later took to the US.

Fans snap up Spice Girls tickets

The group won four Brits, including a lifetime achievement award
London's Spice Girls reunion concert has sold out in 38 seconds after fans were notified tickets had gone on sale, the show's promoters have claimed.

More than one million people in the UK registered for the concert, which takes place on 15 December at the O2 arena.

"It was a dramatic moment - the sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded the lines," said Ticketmaster's boss Chris Edmonds.

Three more London dates have been added to the tour. Tickets cost £55-75.

The shows will take place on 16 and 18 December 2007, and 2 January 2008.

Tickets for the additional dates are currently being sold to fans, who were alerted to the sales by text and e-mail.

And tickets for the 15 December gig are already appearing on eBay - with one pair advertised at £900.

The band's world tour kicks off in Canada on 2 December, and will visit San Jose, Shanghai and Cape Town.

The full line-up has not performed on stage since Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell quit in May 1998.

The reunion concerts have been put together by Simon Fuller, whose 19 company masterminded the group's global success more than a decade ago.

Under his guidance, the five-piece notched up a string of hits - including Wannabe and 2 Become 1 - while also capitalising on their fame with a stream of sponsorship deals.

Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Victoria Adams and Geri Halliwell quickly became household names - although they were better known as Baby, Scary, Sporty, Posh and Ginger.

They sold more than 55 million records around the world, and even starred in a film, Spice World.

Halliwell quit in 1998 citing "differences", leaving the band to complete a sold-out world tour as a foursome.

Since 2001 each member has since pursued solo careers with varying degrees of success, while Posh Spice has become better known as fashion icon Victoria Beckham.

Britney Spears loses custody of her children

The eventful life of Britney Spears took another turn yesterday when a court awarded custody of her two children to their father in an emergency hearing. Spears, 25, was given 48 hours to hand them over to her former husband, Kevin Federline.

Los Angeles superior court judge Scott Gordon ruled he should take custody of Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, from midday tomorrow "until further order of the court".

The order came just two weeks after the same court ruled that Spears could retain custody of the two boys.

At the earlier hearing, the court ruled the singer should meet with a parenting coach, citing evidence that she was "a habitual, frequent and continuous" user of drugs and alcohol. She was also instructed to undergo random, biweekly drug tests.

It is understood the emergency hearing came when lawyers for Mr Federline petitioned the court after Spears was photographed driving with the children in the back of her car at the weekend.

She does not have a current California driving licence and is facing a separate, unconnected charge of misdemeanour hit-and-run and of driving without a licence, following an incident a few days after the previous custody hearing.

The latest setback follows a succession of bizarre antics by the woman who ranks in the top 10 best-selling female recording artists in American history. Last month she was considered to have committed career suicide after a shambolic live appearance at the MTV awards in Las Vegas.

The legal ruling comes a year after Spears filed for divorce from Federline, 29. They had been married for two years.

Church: 'I had a B&Q baby '
by ANDREI HARMSWORTH
It's not unusual to see labourers picking up supplies at hardware store B&Q but for some, seeing a famous mum go into labour would have caught a few by surprise.

New mum, Charlotte Church, says she was locked inside her car in the B&Q car park when she went into labour with new born Ruby Megan.

The 21-year-old described the embarrassing moment saying her husband, Gavin Henson, accidentally left her stranded inside with the car alarm going off.

The singer, who gave birth to her daughter less than two weeks ago, said: "He'd accidentally locked me in the car and the alarm was going off, so people were coming out of B&Q hearing the alarm and looking at the car, and then seeing it's Charlotte Church in there.'

'I was just trying to hide but couldn't - just sitting there having contractions!' she said.

'I wanted to go for a meal in the Toby Carvery but the contractions were every five minutes so we came back.'

Once the couple returned home, the star says she delivered her girl in a home birthing pool while watching the Wales v Japan Rugby World Cup game with player Gavin.

The star joked she struggled following the match, saying she 'was on gas and air by that point so I wasn't really concentrating.'

Meanwhile, the couple told OK! magazine there are plenty more babies on the way.

Asked how many more, Church said: 'Let's say ten. I actually loved being pregnant.'

Church added she won't following in Victoria Beckham's footsteps by shedding the pregnancy pounds to get her figure back in a hurry, adding:

'I think it's sad when people get obsessed with all of that. I'm pretty happy with the way I am and I bagged Gavin so I can't be doing that badly, can I?'

Baby Ruby entered the world weighing 6lb 12oz and her name was picked because of her coloured lips, mum says: 'We had names before she was born - Renee, Jasmine, Ella - but she didn't look like any of them. We were saying she had lush red lips, ruby-red lips, and then said: 'Let's call her Ruby.'

'Megan is her middle name after Gavin's grandmother. She's passed away now but everyone spoke about her with such love.' Metro
