Bouncy castle, a comedian from The Panel . . . and Big Bruv’s Kate Lawler add up to a great Freshers’ Week
BIG Brother winner Kate Lawler will play a set at Envy nightclub tonight (Tuesday) as part of IT Sligo’s Freshers’Week line-up. She was the first female winner of Big Brother UK, after taking part in the third series of the show in 2002. Since leaving the house she has worked as a television presenter and personality, part-time glamour model and is now a well-regarded disc jockey. She played at the Planet Love festival at Fairyhouse Racecourse in County Meath earlier this month.
“We are delighted to have such a wide variety of activities from a bouncy castle to Kate Lawler to Colin Murphy, the comedian from The Panel,” said Students Union president Daniel McGarrigle.
“Hopefully it will be a great week and first years will be able to get into what Freshers’Week is about and get into the college spirit. It is a sign of things to come and we will have a similar lineup for Rag Week.”
Freshers’ week kicked off yesterday with comedy in the Aula Max.
Colin Murphy from The Panel on Network 2 appeared with support from Dundalk comedian Colum McDonnell. There was a Rio carnival party in Envy last night (Monday) with DJs, dancers, samba drummers and a fire eater.
